    Ok..I see that many people seem to have this problem. I have submitted mine to UBI Support, but they have only told me to update my drivers. I am waiting for another response from them since I have already done that (I'm not a newcommer around computers). Below is my DxDiag file and a screen print of the issue. My guess is this is Sound Related, since I do not hear any sound when I launch the program. It displays the initial Splash Screen, make a few flashes, and Crashes. I can't find any newer sound driver that what I'm using.

    Thanks for anyone's help. Looks like a great game...wish I could give it a try.

    Ok..I see that many people seem to have this problem. I have submitted mine to UBI Support, but they have only told me to update my drivers. I am waiting for another response from them since I have already done that (I'm not a newcommer around computers). Below is my DxDiag file and a screen print of the issue. My guess is this is Sound Related, since I do not hear any sound when I launch the program. It displays the initial Splash Screen, make a few flashes, and Crashes. I can't find any newer sound driver that what I'm using.

    Thanks for anyone's help. Looks like a great game...wish I could give it a try.

    Humm...I have an image of my desktop with the error, but can't see to copy and past that into this forum. Any ideas? It is nothing special. At the bottom task bar, it shows Heroes of Might and Magic (normal game) and Error which has the Heroes image next to it. When you click on the Error tab, it brings up the spash screen, with no error displayed.

    Thanks Again..Was just trying to get the image in this reply in case someone recognized it.

    Try uploading it to www.photobucket.com or to rapidshare.de 1st need s registering.
    Have you tried this?
    Press the win key + pause break(same thing as right clicking on the my computer and going to properties).
    Go to advanced tab and press on the fist of the 3 settins buttons (Performance).
    There go to the Data Execution Prevention and click on the second option.(turn on except programs i select)
    Add Heroes5 to the list.(you have to browse to your game exe located in the bin directory of the Heroes5 folder)
    Also try pressing the win key + m. Should minimize all windows except the error and you could read it.

    Thanks for the suggestions Unreal. I have tried them (I seen your suggestion in a few other posts) and they do not solve the issue. Today I'm going to install a PCI sound card and try that (instead of the on-board sound). I will update this post with the results.

    It seems the dual-cpu may have something to do with the crashes. I've seen several people with the same issue. Is there any way you can disable on of them? Or how do they work . Haven't ever seen a dual cpu Mb .(Except for internet ^^).

    RESOLVED:
    Ok I have determined the setting that was causing the Error problem. I can create and resolve the crash anytime consistently. BTW: Chaning the sound card did not help at all.

    This is the setting that I changed:

    Right Click My Computer
    Properties
    Advanced
    Performance - Settings Button
    Advanced Tab
    Under Memory Usage
    Changed from System Cache to Programs

    I'm not sure why this was orginally set to System Cache. But when I place this back to System Cache, It consistently gives me the Error after the Splash Screen.

    Thanks all for your help (especially Unreal). Hopefully this may help others resolve a similar issue.
