Can someone also send me the steps to get silent hunter 3 to work with windows 7. Thanks for the step by steps. I have tried many times and I can get the intro to work but not the game.
I have the DVD and downloaded the 1.4b DVD or should I download the other 1.4b patch.

I see that a lot of people need the solution, so I post it here.

1. Completely remove SH3, and Starforce:

(execute the application in rar archive sfcdrvrem.rar)

Go to the buttom of the page and you find the download to remove Starforce.

2. search for
Silent Hunter 3 v1.4b [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed EXE
on ************* and download it. Its a zip-file (rld-sh14.rar) containing the following files:
SH3.EXE, MISSIONENGINE.DLL, SIMDATA.DLL, UTILS.DLL & STATEMACHINE.DLL

3. Install SH3 and remove the disc from the drive after installation, make sure the game does NOT run after installation.

4. Patch to 1.4b (execute application silent_hunter_3_dvd_1.4b_emea) and make sure the game doesn't start after patching.

5. Extract the contents of the zip-file into SH3's install directory and let it overwrite the files it needs to overwrite.

6. At this point you should be able to play the game.

I tried that, but then the game loads, it Crash To Desktop while loading (the red loading line is complete).

Any suggestions what might be the problem?

Just out of curoisity, what resolution are you trying to play at?

Hi, new to the forum so dont geek me out guys. Finaly got a lappy to play SH3. cant get it to load fully. stoped at navel artilary about 3/4 of the way through. now geting error message 1607 cannt do any thing. tryed re installing just get the error message. please help or point me in the right direction running 7 on a compaq HD lappy. thanks
