Ok everyone...here it is...the solution to killing the ARENA BOSS!!!! I PROMISE you this works!!!
The most important thing here is to RELAX...you will want to start pressing buttons, but DON'T.
Ok....get up on either platform, it doesn't matter which one you do first. Walk up on the beam....and as soon as the screen flashes.....HOLD TRIANGLE BUTTON.....and don't...whatever you do.....let go of it!!! HOLD IT IN!!!! You will perform the first speedkill on the shoulder.....keep holding in the triangle, don't let go!!! Then, depending on which platform you are at, he will either start to grab you, or grab you and hold you in his hand.....while this happens and you are PLEASE still holding in the triangle button, the screen will flash, and then you press square, but STILL holding in traingle!!!!then you will end up on his face....STILL HOLDING TRIANGLE.....and his sword will flash.....for you to do another kill.
After you have done this from both platforms there wil be a short scene and from then on all you have to do is stay behind his legs and keep slashing. After quite some time he will fall to his knees and the Prince will jump on top of him, performing about 3 more kills......you don't need to be holding in the TRIANGLE for this...just be QUICK though...as soon as you see the flash..STAB HIM!!!!!

I PROMISE you this works. i have tried to kill the fat bastard for THREE days now, and was about to sell the game on eBay when i discovered this by accident.

Remember...whatever you do....DO NOT LET GO OF THE TRIANGLE!!!!!

Hello peter!! Ok this solution was for the Playstation 2. The triangle button is the 'speedkill' button, and the square button is the 'dagger attack' button or the 'speed kill finish' button. I'm sorry i don't know what those buttons are on the PC version, but i'm sure you can figure it out. good luck!!

as far as i know you don't have to hold down the triangle button all the time.

just press it once when the screen flashes to initiate the "speedkill sequence". then just press the square button (once at a time) when the clues [clue = dagger flashes (glows blue), screen blurs for a moment and time slows down a bit] appear and ONLY when the clues appear.

that's how the speedkills work for me at least (it’s much easier than holding down the freakin’ triangle button all the time...)

I wrote this for those of us who have a glitch in the game....we only get ONE screen flash at the start,nothing after that which is terribly frustrating... but by holding the triangle in the other flashes appear and we get to kill the boss like everyone else....

It's probably not a glitch. It's more likely user error.

I have a feeling that people are tapping secondary attack to start the speed kill, instead of pressing the button once. In effect, cancelling out the speed kill right off the bat. They never get a visual cue because of this. By holding down secondary attack, they prevent themselves from being ******ed, more or less.

Nah.... this is really really easy once you know how.

You do not need to hold the "speed kill" button down. You only need to press it ONCE to initiate the speed kill sequence.

Once you do, all you need to do is press the attack button when you get the visual cue. DO NOT press anything until you see the screen flash. ANYTHING

do the second speed kill sequence again on the other platform.

The key here is NOT to press anything during the speed kill sequence apart from the attack button when you get the visual cue.

YES! Finally my son and I were able to defeat that KLOMP BASTARD!

Thank you for letting all us PS2 people know you MUST HOLD THE triangle button down to complete these speed kills.

This is definately a small glitch in PS2 platform---just glad we can get around it. There ARE NO VISUAL/AUDITORY clues (aka glittering sword/screen turning black and white) AFTER the first of the three speed kill passes (aka arm slash)!!

This was so frustrating, and I was planning to try to get a game refund.
