I wont buy another ubisoft game untill this gets resolved. That was why i bought this game is to try it out and learn the story, try out the online before buying the newer versions. I like the single player, but i cant acess online so Im giving unisoft 2 thumbs down.

Hi. I am having the exact same issue others have mentioned. I have never been able to access Uplay from Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360). I get the error: "Error loading information from Uplay service. Returning to game."

I do have a ticket open with tech support, but the only responses I have received are:

"We are aware of the server connection issues that some users have experienced, and are working as quickly as possible to resolve the problem. We do not expect the problem to last long, and we will update the forums for the game and our FAQ as soon as the problem has been resolved. Thank you for your patience while we investigate and fix this problem."

"As indicated previously, this is a known issue that the developers are currently investigating. As soon as any additional information becomes available, it will be placed in the game's forums and in our FAQ. Thank you for your understanding in this matter."

It would sure be great if we could get an indication from Ubisoft of when this will be fixed. This seems to be such a longstanding issue that it is difficult not to come to the conclusion that Ubisoft doesn't care that it doesn't work and has no intention of fixing it.

They put my question with support as SOLVED????? What the frikking hay? there is NOTHING SOLVED. Is this how a serious problem that affects all AC2 players is being dealt with? You look like the frikking NfS World team that keeps ignoring it's customers just as Ubi support does

    I AM NOT AMUSED

I think I have solved this problem, at least in a certain way. If any of you have another Ubisoft game besides the one that is giving you problems with UPlay, put it in and log into UPlay. I was having the exact same problem as all of you with my Assasins Creed 2. I bought the game when it first released, but I have such a busy life that I am just now getting to playing it. Anyways, I am about to start sequence 4 and I decided to try logging into UPlay to unlock the crypt in Monterggioni for the door I found that says to login to uplay to access. When I tried this, I kept getting the same message as all of you. I was starting to get agitated, when I remembered that my brother is playing thru Brotherhood right now and he told me he has absolutely no problems logging into UPlay thru the game. I decided to try logging into UPlay thru my Splinter Cell Conviction and what do you know....it worked, and with no problems at all. I then went to actions and selected Assassins Creed thru the list and it lets me use my points I have accumulated from the game and other Ubi games and open up what I need to open in the game....WHO KNEW! I havent gotten the chance to try this with Revelations since I am just getting started on ACII, but most likely if it worked for ACII, it will work for Revelations as well. Anyone on here care to try it....just let us know if it works. I have also noticed that the date in which I got my first ACII achievement (Welcome the the Animus 2.0) which was back in 09 when I started it but originally, was not registered until Feb of 2012, which is weird since I got that achievement back in 09 and didn't even restart ACII until about a week ago...I never played it in Feb of this year even though UPlay registered my 2009 achievement in that month. I personally think that when UBI started adding Uplay to their games, they were giving each game it's own server, but have since meshed all the games together and gave UP its own server to handle all of their games. This may be why ACII does not allow UPlay to connect, but it works thru other games. However, that still doesn't explain all of the problems many of you seem to be having with your AC Revelations games. I just wanted to share this for all of you who want your content in ACII and let you know that you can still get it by going thru another Ubi game that works with UP. Please post your experiences on here after trying this technique and let us all know if it worked for you the way it worked for me.

Thanks for the work around greyfox.

I began playing ACII in 2010 or early 2011, and had no problems accessing UPLAY. At some point last fall, I discovered that I could no longer access UPLAY. I thought that maybe UbiSoft had simply ended UPLAY support due to the age of ACII, and that may well be the case. It seems that customer support has not admitted anything of the sort though. As whizzy has mentioned several times previously, the problem lies with the UPLAY servers, or the coding on ACII disk. I don't have a problem with support ending, and I am fine with using the work around. However, the gaming community and Ubi's reputation would have been better served to acknowledge this last year, instead of frustrating gamers by having them check internet / router / XBox settings; saying that they fixed the problem, when they didn't; or refusing to acknowledge that a problem existed at all.

I expect that the work around will allow me to access my ACII content on UPLAY, so I don't expect to post an update. I also don't expect to see a reply from Ubi.

    Thanks UbiSoft. You Rock!!!!
