holy ****, i made the settings on custom and crank it all the way up. boy, this thing is hard! even on level 1 i had some trouble.

at the end of level, 2 germans will flank you from the right (and i mean one to your right side and another to your back), while 2 groups of germans will supress you and your team from the front...

    not impossible, but tough nonetheless...

"1st Lt. Dike: 1st sergeant Lipton? you get things organized here. I'm gonna go for...help!"

So I just finished the skirmish mode and thought, "Wow that was really fun and why didn't they integrate some of those elements into the story mode?"

Mainly, I liked the one level where you play as the Germans protecting the 88 ammo dump. In the first portion you basically have to hold the line as waves of Americans keep rushing you. First they take cover-- as what is usually done in the game, nothing different-- then after a while they come charging in desperately.

It totally added a new element to the game other than the same ol suppress and flank tactics. You really felt a sense of urgnecy and it made the battle seems much larger.

On the second portion where you're defending the hill, it was really quite a sight to see droves of troops spilling in through the trenches coming after you-- I was thinking holy **** how am I going to survive this???

And then on the last portion they come in from all sides. I thought it was the most intense level of the whole game.

The whole level felt like a great combination of squad based tactics and a faster paced arcade shooter.
