I spend hours finding my way into truk atol using fotrs. Every time I've been here, there's been so many ships it lags to hell and wont reload if I save anywhere within a hundred miles. Now I finally get here and the only target that didn't chase me in is a damned harbor tug. I sunk it, along with 2 kurma escorts, and 1 old subcaser. Set the stern of an asashio on fire, they both ran for it. Normally there's ca's, cl's, oilers, a merchie or 2, soemtimes a CVE. I guess someone told them I was comming.

Not sure about FORS. Will have to give it a try.
Did you say it had subnets around Truk.

Things will lag unless you have a uber computer with many contacts...just so many items for your cp to keep up with. Saving with all that info can cause some failed saves. It's also much worse near a port. Try Osaka. I got over 100 contacts. Computer lagged so bad I could hardly shoot.

Sucks....but at least you did some good damage.
Do you have radar. That should show you what's there if you get the right angle. Sometimes you can pull a few hundred miles away and come back and more ships will have spawn.

Last time I tried FORS it still had several bugs, did they update it?

I have a horrid crashing sound that goes off on a regular basis but otherwise no bugs. I've been hit a few times at radar depth, but to 28 I think, so if I leave truk I'm stayin out and heading for base. Apparently the nets cannot be crossed on the surface, so if a convoy leaves you can see where the openign is. There's one in the shallows to the west, nearest the landmass (sorta) and one to the south where there is a very short shallow before a deep area. I cheated with the exteral cam to get in there. Assuming my save even loads I may head back to port and do another shot later or start from outside and try again from an earlier save. I want to catch the perpetual TF that used to sit in there. Watch out for shore gun.
