If you're fast enough you can jump out of the hatch after you give the dive order and take a nice walk around the sub while submerged

Today i managed to have my first underwater battle on SH5
, a British U-class saw me comming and dived to 12 meters, i followed and shot off two torpedos at 9 meter depth. first missed and second hit the props
, it blew balast, surfaced and i finnished it off with a couple of rounds of HE. they truly have come far since SH3.
