Flying A-20s in IL2 FB | Forums

Hello,
I am relatively new to the field and I have to say that I was amazed by the sheer quality of most contributions, both from skinners and mission buiders. Congratulations to you all!!! I am currently creating campaigns using the IL2 FB AEP and I want to fly the A-20G (Boston) but the plane is not included in the game. I have created a special A-20G folder in the paintschemes/skins section where I stored skins gathered from various IL2 skin sights but the damn plane does not appear in game (either in single, quick mission or mission buider).
Could anyone please assist with the problem?

The only thing I can think of is that the A-20 is not flyable in your version of the game. It is flyable in the 1946 version so I recommend you buy that version. You should be able to get it for $20 or less. I saw a post a few days ago where someone said it was under $10 now.

You must have a VERY early version of the game. A20G has been flyable for donkey's!

Actually, I thought it became flyable with Pacific Fighters?

Yes, that I know. My problem is that I cannot create VVS missions or misions on any front other than the Far East with the FMB of Pacific Fighters

Ah... Do you have Pacific Fighters installed as an addon with Forgotten Battles and AEP, or is it installed as a standalone game?

Well, then, you really need to get the whole shebang.

Easiest way is to get the 1946 DVD. Or you can direct d/l from Steam I believe. That will get you up to ver. 4.07. You then need to d/l a patch to get you up to 4.08m. Then you'll have everything.

To make OTHER, 4 engine bombers flyable by way of hacked in cockpits you'll need the mod. Easy enought to find, but no links allowed here.

I believe if you d/l from UbiStore it's patched up to 4.08. It's easiest to download it, but if you lose your harddrive or anything without storing the installer somewhere else, well...

In any case, you'll definitely want to get 1946. A big step up from PF standalone.
