Thread: Gameplay feedback and new features wishlist | Forums

Well I think most of the quality issues have been addressed previously, so I'll go into gameplay specific things.

Quality of controls/graphics + drm issues aside the game is fairly good, if a bit rough around the edges. It desperately needs a way to create custom levels to have sustained replayability though. Multiplayer could also help this game in that area, though that is not nearly as important as a level editor. The ability to send people to more than one totem at a time would also be nice.

Lastly, being able to zoom out a bit more would be great since the camera becomes very annoying around tall mountains.

    -DRM
-Better Camera controls. WSAD shouldn't control the mouse.

Yeh, thanks. Wasn't sure how to explain. :

Also, the ability to create your own story line. The map making could be near enough the same as the last level, with the extra tsunami times, volcano eruptions etc etc. Also with the powers to stop water and lava/fire breaching the villages.

I've completed the story mode and the first 10 or so challenges, and now I'm a bit tired of stressing about those challenges.

I thought it would be nice if there were some way that you could add in a Random Map Generator that generated a new map for you to complete?
Options for the RMG would be like:
    Volcanic activity
    Tsunami's
    Earthquake
    Amount of trees
    Water
    and so on.

It would be really lovely since 12 maps of the story line is just too little of this :-)

Also it would be nice to have some sort of coop with your friends.

I would like to present my idea for a coop version:
Make it a two persons coop and make them choose their elements, such as one player chooses water and lava and the other chooses vegation and earth.
Then they must cooperate by using their abilities to complete the map, it forces them to cooperate and can make a map much more advanced since you have to agree on how to solve it.

    Best regards,
    Psoreya

Everyone has made good suggestions so far, so it goes without saying that 'I agree!'

I've had a few ideas for the proper 'sandbox' level you need to implement. Also, I'm not sure if some of these are bugs or not because it just seems to be an oversight when the game was being made.

    Disasters
As said before, we'd like to be able to control the world like in the levels we made. It would be good if we could make our own timed lava flows or water flows.

I've only ever been able to make the tsunami appear on one side in origins. I don't know if this is correct, but we should be able to choose which side, or if we want multiple tsunamis at once.

    Powers and totems
The drain water function seems to prevent any more seas from forming in sandbox mode. I'd like to be able to drain the water and then create the sea again.

Maybe in the real sandbox mode, it would be good to have the option to have the powers without the totems. You could instead assign totems with the ones like 'Jellify water' or 'evaporation'.

If you could make it so we could add our own little doodads like the protection for water/fire stones, that would be great. Or some kind of option to toggle our villages with it?

When creating the totems we need to be able to remove them if we've put them in the wrong place. I accidentally placed a lava spring on top of one (instead of making a rock area) and I was unable to remove the totem or the spring. The breath/cursor kept circling the totem preventing removing the lava source. It's not a bug, but I'm pretty sure that if there was any kind of testing before this game was released then this should have been noticed.

It would be good if we could remove rock we've placed. It's a little bit hard to get good spires or walls with the lava and it would be quite impractical if I were to use the exploding trees everytime something went a bit odd. Obviously this can only be used in the sandbox mode to prevent cheating in the story mode.

    General ideas
Edit: I've just thought of some general thigns to implement. Multiple saves, so if I've made a nice island I can keep it and possibly give my friends it to play on. You could make the story levels available as sandbox things with the option to disable disasters (e.g. I'd like to be able to play in that volcanos crater without getting all my villages drowned). It's not a necessary thing, but it would add to the replayability.

You could put the option for customisable map sizes. If you do happen to make a multiplayer mode (which I don't know whether you can) then larger maps are going to be really important.

That's all I can think of for now, I'll add some more later. Thank you for readinging this and I hope you take our suggestions with some serious consideration

No internet connection required to play after the original (first time you run the game) authentication. As previously promised when I paid for the game. This IS a gameplay feature I am requesting; without it I cannot play the game at all.

I think the game can work with Intel Cards too. Putting the advanced graphics options you can change the quality and put low to Intel cards.

Intel Cards = More consumers = More Money

    It's a good idea Ubisoft

They should create "sandbox" mode where you could have every totem and every power! like an level editor. Or did I miss something O.o that would be cool!

    Agreeing with everyone else.
    - Remove 30 PFS lock
    - Change graphic settings. Settings for view distance (So i can get rid of the stupid popup trees) AA and so on.
    - Change/remove DRM (I have a stable Internet connection always but this game only starts after 10 tries)
    - Optimize the game. I have a new nice computer that runs everything on the market today but this still manages to drop below 20fps from time to time.

Love the game but it has some serious problems.

Here's what I think From Dust needs to be the game they promissed us.

First of all...NO internet connection needed to play.

    - The Sand Box mode, in my POV, essencial to make this game a concept game...
    - A full graphics settings, to make the best fps in each computer
    - Fix the camera and de mouse cursor. Like in the most other strategy/simulation games we play in computer.

I hope they make a patch soon.
    Thanks.
