Thread: Dev / GM involvement in ToW? | Forums

  1. #1
I searched for this but couldn't find anything, either because I'm dense or the info doesn't exist. If I missed a thread on it, post a link and ignore me.

What I want to know is, will there be any Dev or GM involvement in the overall ToW? To give some examples...

Will there be any weather effects in the ToW? (Not the tactical battles, which I'm sure will feature varying weather effects) Let us say there is a particularly harsh winter and certain Scandinavian battlefields will become inaccessible for a few days, forcing the factions to rethink their overall strategy?

Could the devs, acting as GMs, create a political / diplomatic situation where two factions sign a limited ceasefire for several days, again forcing all factions to redesign their plans for world domination?

Could the devs implement a hypothetical storyline in a future ToW where the leadership of one faction was overthrown in a coup, thereby injuring or strengthening the effectiveness of a faction's forces for a number of days?

These are just ideas, or questions, I'm throwing out there. The ToW aspect of this game seems VERY promising and exciting indeed. However I'm wondering if it may become somewhat of a grind after a couple months when the maps remain exactly the same, the story remains exactly the same, and the strategies for each faction are boiled down to an exact science for each war.

As somebody who has played a few MMORPGs, I'd like to see some Dev / GM involvement in some future ToW scenarios to spice things up. Thoughts?

The only thing that the devs will be doing is being under the control of the GBT, the terrorists. They are going to be used to make the game fair if one faction is dominating the other.

Thats good and all, but I was hoping they would do more than just nerf / boost factions. This could be a truly dynamic world for them to work with.

They won't nerf factions during the ToW, the devs will use the GBT to cause havoc, maybe strike at a airbase so one faction can't use it's air support or something like that.

I like the idea of the weather affecting the overall war, but the ceasefire would resort to one faction getting pwnzord, even if two weaker factions allied against one that was dominating.

Yeah, the second part is true. I do wonder though how these dynamic events will be presented to the community. Will they be simple posts made here on the forum or would they be made known upon loading the game each day in the form of a newsflash or newsticker?
