Thread: Tazers | Forums

In an interview it was said there will be tazers. I don't understand with a bunch of guys with these awesome weapons that there will be tazers. Will a russian just be running around screaming and trying to shock the Euros. And what is the point of just shocking him and making a guy immobile for a minute when you can just shoot him.

Probably tazer bullets/ammo for storming buildings, still sounds kindadumb to do in a full scale war unless you want to capture everyone.

If they decide too do something like a stated above about paralysing they'd better use the metal storm rounds for shotguns that the US is developing now.

Unless you can capture enemy units for points/intel or someting, but thats against the no magic rule so still kind of a what the hell ablility

No tazers for me plz :P

Hehe, after reading these posts i imagined the classic, old-school chase of the cartoon character going through the doors lined up down the hallways....but in this case, it would be Ruskies chasing EF, or JSF soldiers........oh that would be funny.

I agree with what's been said so far though, unless there's some bonus to capturing the enemy, I wouldn't understand why we would use tasers. The wouldn't even keep the guy down for the whole fight..... so if ur gonna shoot him wiht a bullet anyways....................... just do it.

If tasers don't kill and simply are used to incapacitate, then perhaps Endwar will have a gameplay feature that is similar to what Act of War: Direct Action had http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/...on/review.html . You could injure the enemy for purposes of intel as you said Greg.

Not saying that this is in the game, however IF you had a "snatch n grab" mission, tasers would be IDEAL, as you wouldn't kill the "HVT" or high value target, that you were sent to capture.

Not sure what your point is regarding Metal Storm, however if your concern is that the Taser barb needs to be tied to the weapon, that is no longer the case. New tech has been developed that can fire a "taser" projectile at extended ranges without a tether back to the weapon. The Germans have devilishly worked on a "liquid taser" that essentially is a stream of high pressure water that carries the electric shock to its target.

BTW, anyone interested in non-lethal weapons tech including taser or its military term: NMI or Neuro Muscular Incapacitation, shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send some stuff over.

i thinks by tazers they mean electric darts, if you read the book it briefly mentions that these can send 50,000 volts of electricity through an enemy, not sure whether or not that's lethal
