Thread: How to make my framerate not to follow my refresh rate? | Forums

  1. #1
Right now im using a radeon 9600 pro and it can go up to more than 100 fps from what i see but the problem is that it only follow my refresh rate. i see people getting 75-300 with their cards. I dont think there is a monitor that supports 300Hz refresh rate. So how to make my fps not to follow refresh rate? turn off vsync or something?

In your ravenshield.ini search for UseVSync=True and set it to UseVSync=False

Also make sure you force Vsync to "always off" in your ATI control panel.

What kind of monitor are you using? LCD or no?

It doesn't matter you disable your vsync.

Let's take my monitor it runs at 85 Hz if I use vsync it will set the FPS=Hz. If I run the game at 85Hz and turn off vsync the monitor isn't going to render more frames per second, it'll still only render 85/sec.

That is also why some ppl say you can't tell the differnce between 100 and 150 Hz (just an example), but that is most likely because they are running 150fps on a monitor that can't go any higher than 100Hz(so it renders 100).
