I'm getting the same problem. So basically a repeat of the question. Does anyone know how to fix this ? I basically don't even get a chance to even see any part of the game because windows just makes it stop working.

If you have an integrated Intel videocard, give up; and quietly weep if someone told you it was meant for gaming, because you got scammed. You can't run it, end of story.

There are several things you can try:

Run as admin. rightclick on from_dust.exe and select run as admin. Actually, where it concerns Vista or W7, this is generally the solution to pretty much everything.

The fix on the scene is to disable sync save games. In the launcher, under settings. (Yes, even on legal ones. Also solves the 'ocean background' menu bug).

Add the game folder to your antivirus exeption.

Verify the game files in the steam launcher if you're using steam.

Update your videocard drivers. Yes i know we're all tired of hearing this by now. For some, it worked.

Uninstall ubisoft game launcher, delete the folder of it as well, and then reinstall it using UbisoftGameLauncherInstaller.exe from the game's folder.

Install the game onto the same drive as windows. Installing it on another drive seems to cause issues.
