Private Message Walkthrough, with text and images: July 22, 2007

It is possible to send a private message to another registered user on this site.

1- Find one post of the person you would like to send a private message to.

2- Click the username (A) and a small window will open. (see first image)

3- Click on (B) Add "name of the person" to my Buddies.

4- At the top of every page, on the left side, you will find tabs (#1) on the second image. Click on the "GO" tab (first one) at #1. (see image #2)

5- A small window will open. Click on the "Personnal" line (#2) and a new additionnal window will open.

6- Click on the "Private Messaging" line (#3) and a new window will open.

7- Click on the box "New Private Message" (#4) and a new window will open.

8- In the box on the left,(see picture #2) you should see the person's username. Click on it, to shawdow it (in this exemple: #6)

9- To add the name to the "Invited Member(s)" box on the right, click on the add box (#7) and then click on the "Invite Members" box, below this box on the right. (Sorry, I forgot to put a number on my image)

10- A new page will open.(see image #3) Like when starting a new thread in a regular forum, you have to enter a title. (#10, third image)

11- Write your message like you would do in a regular post. Do not forgot to click on the "Post Now" box to send it.

12- It is possible to add more than one name in the box "Invited Members". (See new image #4) This way, you can create a private forums with your best buddies. And you would be able to delete it, if something goes wrong. The initiator of a private forum is in fact the "private moderator" who can terminate it.

13- If you have a message waiting for you, you should see a small white flag after the last tab, to the right, on top of a page.

14- when ready/finished, do not forget to click "Post Now" at #14 on image #3.

    Hello,

Since the old Avatar and Signature Guidelines have desapeared, up in the Testing Thread, I have found the perfect replacement.

    Edited:
This subject has been deleted by Ubisoft.

When You Ask a question or help,Choose your forum carefully

Be sensitive in choosing where you ask your question. You are likely to be ignored, or written off as a loser, if you:

    - post your question to a forum where it's off topic

    - post a very elementary question to a forum where advanced technical questions are expected, or vice-versa

    - cross-post to more than one forum.

    - post a personal e-mail to somebody who is neither an acquaintance of yours nor personally responsible for solving your problem.

    P.S.
For safety reason, an email address should always be sent through a Private Message. Do not show it in a regular post.

If your post is the last one in a thread and you would like to add more informations, do not make a new post right away. Instead, use the "edit button". It is the middle one at the bottom-right of your post. (middle one of three. It looks like a small folder image and/with the eraser end of a pencil.)

How to edit anyone of your posts.

At the bottom, right side of any of your own post, you will find an "edit button". (small icon of a folder + the eraser end of a pencil)
