Hi folks!

I've heard a few people say (online) that the sensors in GR:IT don't work as well as the sensors in the original GR. It /seems/ to have happened to me - I placed a sensor and it's not picked up the "enemy" running around right in front of my nose! Is this true?

Also - I heard that on GR you can only have 4 active sensors (per team). Is that true - and does it hold true for GR:IT? If true - what happens if a 5th sensor is placed? Is it just ignored - and what I've experienced above (sensor not picking up the enemy) is as a result of this "feature"?

    Cheers,

    Dez.

apparently the enemy can destroy them and the sensor wont pick them up on the map if they are prone. use claymores instead.

they jump out of a chinook, then they just walk as if they wont get seen. now they are the ghosts.

Will claymores pick up enemies even if they are prone? Can you lay multiple claymores? (as you can tell - I haven't experimented much with explosives!)

No, Claymores wont pick up your enemy on the map but they sure give'em a suprise when they clock it right before you set it off!!

The team can lay multiple claymores, but you can only set 1 at a time because when you do you then control the detonator which.... ....detonates it.

oh no, i meant claymore for unsuspecting enemy patrols.BOOM! whey hey!

problem with sensors too is your team can only use a certain amount. thats what i heard. im an anti-tanker/rifleman. not a strategist.

    to answer your question mate..

I've had the same problem with the enemy being really close and not appearing. I'm not sure about the 5 sensor thing on GRIT but it was a factor in the original GR.

If you shot a sensor it doesnt work. I have also heard that on GRIT once the soldier with sensors dies so do the sensors, I havnt had chance to check this out yet but it may help to explain the problems your having.

Yes, the enemy (or your own team) can shoot a sensor, which causes it to disappear (i.e. it has been destroyed). The other stuff about not being able to put out more than 5, I don't know about for sure, never even heard of that though.

As to the original point about putting a sensor down, and having the enemy running around right in front of you, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS ONE. Because, if an enemy is within eyesight, they will show up on the map with or without sensors. Though the sensors do seem to "not-work" occassionally, I find them to work much more in the new game than they ever did in the original (I think they have sent back the batch of sensors made in some sweat-shop in Taiwan, and have replaced them with ones made in Korea!)
