I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the map scale in game is?
I would like to chart out estimated distance but have no clue as to what distance each box in the grid represents (or if it even does).

I wish I could help you directly, but I do know that map grid size can be dependent on the mission builder. It's scalable from what I've read and the mission maker can dictate the grid size by an adjustment in FMB.

I don't have precise details, but I'm betting if this thread were in the mission builder's forum, you'd have tons of information about this subject to peruse. Maybe the mods will move it for you.

The map references top and right of the map are every 10km. The actual grid line spacing varies with zoom level.

At the lower and left edges of the map there are very pale grid reference numbers every tenth grid line, regardless of scale. These are hard to spot, but definitely there. They give distance from the extreme bottom left corner of the map in km and relate directly to the coordinates found in the .mis files for the missions.

At the larger zoom levels these numbers are slightly easier to find as the grid lines they're attached to are a paler shade than the surrounding grid lines. When zoomed in close, every second grid is pale

Thanks I have seen the numbers you are talking about,but what I wonder is looking at the bottom of this specific map I have the number 100.0 (horizontal) and the vertical number of 130.0.
Now does that mean the distance inside each square?

Now the grid boxes should be square but they aren't they measure in the map I'm using now 1" tall, 3/4" wide, so I'm assuming that the numbers(100.0/130.0) represent distance in each square (which as mentioned will change depending on amount of zoom) If I can find that this is correct I should be able to get a good estimate of a distance between two points, afterall that is how "real life" maps work, LOL!
Heck with torpedo bombers how about a map that you can navigate distance between two points, you need to know that in order to figure ETA!
should be easy if you have grid squares that all sides are equal, with that you can even get accurate diagonal distance

AFAIK the 100 horizontal represents 100km's north and the 130 perpendicular represents 130km's east from bottom left of the map.
