It would be simple to just limit how many times you can respec. It's much easier to implement and to balance this way, unlike other proposed solutions.

Yeah, my personal preference is still that it simply has a cooldown for one month, and a reasonable(perhaps proportionate to your level) resource cost, I think that would be the fairest. The idea that blue stated was just cool is all.

I think many have misunderstood the purpose of the respec option. It's a ONE TIME chance you have every TEN levels. And the reason is that every ten levels your hero advances, spells and skills from the tier above become available, and so you can distribute your skillpoints differently. But once you've done this you can't do it again before you reach the next ten-level mark.

To give an example, when your hero is between levels 1-9 you can only learn rank 1 spells and skills. When you reach level 10 rank 2 abilities become available. And so you have the opportunity to respec ONE time. Perhaps there is a recourse cost as well, I don't know.

And for you doubters out there (there always are some), here is the quote from one of the Q&As:
Your Blood and Tears ratings are not co-dependant and you never lose the Reputation points you've gained. Every ten levels, you can also "respec" your hero's Reputation (and therefore their class and abilities). But in the single player campaigns, you have to make a final Reputation choice at a certain moment, and you cannot go back and respec (for obvious storytelling reasons).

I completely missed that, thanks for the info. It seems somewhat reasonable.

Thanks a lot karin003 for your post.
I became worried, but I can see now what this respecialization is all about - thank you very much.

For those interested it indeed was mentioned in Reputation Q&A. Here's the link:
