Thread: Zero Renown received?? | Forums

  1. #1
I've recently completed the first patrol on a new career (my 3rd career). I sunk over 60K tons of merchants (including a passenger liner). My log shows all the kills; the patrol status radio message I sent out showed the correct tonage; but when I got back to my base, the debriefing report showed 0 ton, and (therefore) 0 renown, no reward of any kind. Is there any strange combination of events or any known bugs that would cause this???

Did you also sunk a lot of Neutral ships?

Sinking Neutrals will give you a negative renown.

For those that never plays SHII...

    Red Square = Enemy ships
Green Square = Neutral ships(it will negative effect on renown)
Blue Square = German boots(also negative effects on renown).

In convoy format, if close range 1000 meter( CHECK THE FLAG) US ships are neutral till 1942 if i am right, if not please correct it...

I didn't sink any neutral ship. I use free cam to check every target

I did many saves during the patrol, but ALL of them shows 0 tons in the list of save files.

You encountered a well known old bug I suspect. If you save during your first patrol at any point then the results of that patrol are instantly deleted down to 0. But I thought they fixed that in the latest patch. Did you save during that patrol? If so then I bet this is what happened.

I just had the same thing happen to me. They were definitely British flags and in my log, but not at the end of the patol debriefing. I DID save during first patrol. Annoying bug.

Well now this totally sucks. I have saved multiple times in my patrol because I can't spend 4-5 hours at the PC every night. I am heading back to base after sinking four British destroyers - wondering now (after reading this post) - if I am going to receive any credit for it.

    Craptastic.

It appears you only receive renown for patrolling the sector and returning to base in such occasions. It says "Tonnage: 0" when you select the saved slot, even if you had sunk ships prior to saving.

I believe that you need to expend all your torpedos if you don't make it to your patrol grid. BdU will then order you to RTB in order to get renoun. Just returning on your own to base with torpedos left onboard will not give you any renoun.

Reason being.... I had a patrol where I was attacked by 4 air patrols in grid BF54. Which isn't all that far form Lorient. Boat had extensive damage to the conn, hull, deck and flak guns plus 6 dead crewmen. Instead of continuing on I RTB and received no renoun. Works out the same as not following orders.

So if you go out on a second patrol you'll get credit for any other patrols?
