Hi could someone please advise, i would like to connect a joystick instead of useing the mouse to play far cry, but cannot see any option where i can change it over.

Well, fist off Far Cry does NOT support standard game controllers (gamepads, joysticks).

But, you can purchase a controller that can be "programmed" to "simulate" a Mouse and/or a keyboard.

As I have been using a Gravis controller that does just that and it works perfectly!

Unfortunately, Gravis Game controllers are ALL discontinued and are no longer available you might have a hard time finding one.

The BEST is called a Gravis Eliminator Aftershock, which can be programed to act as a mouse AND a keyboard, and can have up to 28 keyboard buttons AND full mouse function using the included software.

You MAY find one on Ebay, that's where I found mine. But, if not, I have included a couple of links below to COMP USA that has two Thrustmaster Controllers that should also work.

Most, if not all, of the newer First Person Shooter type games do NOT support joysticks/gamepads.

Hope this helps, I know how frustrating it is because I am also not a mouse/keyboard gamer.

Thankfully, there are controllers available to simulate the mouse/keyboard.

Patch 1.4 seems to set the initial movement inputs to joystick :? which is why people lose mouse control, but I am not sure where it monitors for these inputs or if a default joystick would work with 1.4, Also reverting to "default" commands removes the joystick and replaces it with mouse so if it does work don't forget to make a backup of game.cfg just in case.
