Why does Sam have to use the crowds in broad daylight. Couldn't he just stakeout until night time then use his gadgets and all? If he still has his NVG's and SC20K, he could still wait until night, then be able to use them to achieve the objective. I just don't understand why you have to use the crowd in broad daylight. Why do you HAVE to blend in, can't you just be invisible like the old games? I think that using the crowd is useless when there is always darkness to wait for.

Sam doesnt have his NVG's or SC20K anymore, thats all government property. So is everything else he used including the wetsuit, five-seven, and all the attachments. Not only that, but third echelon would expect Sam to try and infiltrate at night and would likely be on the lookout for him. You also have to factor in that Sam wont have any sophisticated technology or support he can use to neutralize security systems.

Its much easier for him to just blend in and gain access to the places he needs to go while they are open for business. Contrary to the belief of alot of people on this forum, darkness is not always enough to mask your presence. Especially in a large city like DC where the night sky is lit up like a christmas tree. There is also surveillance everywhere and security to be dealt with. DC isnt a third world country. Its easier to operate during the day where you can remain inconspicuous and disappear into a crowd if you need to.

Good point, it would be harder for Sam to infiltrate w/o his gadgets in the darkness.

i think there should be 3 modes.

    1. During the morning/day (easy)
***Hoodie, guns and gadgets found on previous missions
    2. During the afternoon (medium)
    ***No hoodie or gadgets
    3. During the night (hard)
***using only your knife and homemade NVGs. Now thats getto

Why make NVGs when he can go to Wal-Mart and buy them there. Or he can steal them--if he gets caught, they'll just him a slap on the wrists.

Real answer: Ubisoft doesn't want Sam to have his gadgets. The gameplay didn't change because of the story, the story was designed to allow the new gameplay to be introduced.
