Thread: ea + ubi no more? | Forums

i dont know if this has been posted already, but i have read a few things on gamespot AND gamers.com and both of them said vivendi might help "the French video games maker fight a possible takeover bid from U.S. giant Electronic Arts"

does this mean vivendi will end up buying ubi? or just help fight off ea? im so confused!

just some good news or bad news, depending on if you like or dont like ea...

Well in terms of EA V.s UBI, this depending entirely on UBI, if they let Vivendi have 50% or more shares in their company it will be harder for EA to do a 'hostile takeover' + there is no reason why they should becuase UBI is doing well in revenue, productivity etc.
And if Vivendi becomes part of UBI and EA decides to make another bid, Vivendi will have a say init too, which makes it even more complicated for EA. But from wot I am aware of EA wanted a hostile takeover but I am not sure wether this is true?
Either way if Vivendi owns part of/ or most of UBI, they will HAVE to help UBI out of this hostile takeover, which is good news in short term (IMO!) but not for long term coz the Co. will lose its identity; unless Vivendi takes a back seat, which I sincerley doubt.

Personally, I wouldn't like EA to be part of UBI, nonetheless some good may some out of it?

I always thought EA is a Canadian based company with branches in US and elsewhere.....

As far as I know Ubi is also canadaian, although based in french speaking Quebec/Montreal area, it's still canadian not really french from france but again I may be wrong...

who cares anyway? i mean, odds are, ea is still gonna let ubisoft do what they want and in the end ea is just gonna put their name on it. all they want is to reach more people and make more money. i doubt it would really change the outcome on products much. besides, i like some of the ea games, i own quite a few... so it's not like they're bad. and if anyone has a huge problem with ea, why don't you take all your games and burn any of them that say ea on them (i'm sure majority of you have at least one... especially if you like anything "Sim").

Well kinda... Initially the co. was founded in France, and coz they were getting 'fat' (cheques) the best thing to do was get MORE (by going into other countries).

    A funny thing to mention:

Here in Brasil, UBI games are distributed by EA Brasil.
