Thread: Diplomacy-a skill too overpowered! | Forums

    Well,the skilled players who participate in the heroes 3's tourneys and especially on the Zone have banned this skill,which is obviouslly too overpowered.The developing team of H5 didn't notice that?!For the good balance of this game we ask with respect to take out this skill.Thancks

    Thing is this has turned into an ability that imo is ballanced.
    You will not get 75% of the troops to join you as in homm3 from what i noticed here with diplomacy about 15% joined from the overpowered ones.

    Anyway,the idea is that you will have larger number troops than normally recruited from your town(s) and also here comes a factor of luck,regarding the type of monsters which you meet in your area map,factor that will unrightfully advantage one player and dissadvantage the other.

    @Mikbrani:

    They also didn't noticed that logistic specialists and Sir mulich are also banned.

    Aside from diploamcy we have hero specials increasing land movement and initiative of troops in combat.

    Diplomacy with the 15% is not OK ... sorry it still a luck factor. IF only 15% of creatures that u were to fight join us .. for egzample hero comes to a stack of 100 skeletons ... now only 15 of them ofer to join rest just runs , but I think that level 6 and level 7 should never join !!!

    On the open beta maps none of the high level troops joined.
    I think they have to be greatly overpowered to join. Something like 20 blacks for 30 liches to join.

    i played only a few times (have a busy job)with sylvan and in the 2nd week with the aid of diplomacy 30(!)grand elves offered to join me-so i could fight easier and beat strong monsters and evoluate rapidly.
    And of course,Val-Gaav is right,heroes specialists in logistics and initiative in combat are too good!(i didnt see this)it must be done something regarding this!

    I made an efford to save h5 multiplayer and listed all the rules that are used when playing h3 in MP.

    LOL ..... Or should I say that I'm sad ... Clearly it's the same as in h3 ... 30 grand elves ... Now I'm sure they must change the diplomacy ... or get rid of it ... Personaly I think they should get rid of it as it's too hard to balance ... and besides it's only a sub-skill in h5.

    I agree. Diplomacy can give one lucky player an unfair advantage. I always feel I've won unfairly when I end up with an extraordinarily large force due to diplomacy, and then defeat my vastly outnumbered opponent. It makes the win sort of meaningless and detracts from the fun of balanced armies duking it out based on skill choices and strategy.

    Also, so much effort seems to have gone into the development of balanced creatures for the different factions, why spoil all that hard work by inserting such an unbalancing skill into the equation?
