I have wondered, why does Sam Fisher, NSA secret agent not own a knife with which to silence his enemies without expending ammunition?? I seriously think a combat knife would improve the game's stealth aspect. Perhaps there will be a knife in the sequel. Any comments?

i think it is because stabbing causes a lot, and i mean a lot of blood, and the blood tends to come out faster than with a bullet hole. this causes blood stains and the enemies could spot that. also, it is less effective on the head because of the bone
