Thread: Re-installing game | Forums

  1. #1
I'm getting a new hard drive and it's a different setup so I won't be cloning the drive. If I make a copy, though, of my Crytek folder onto DVD, re-install the game on my new disc, then copy everything from my DVD back into the Crytek folder will it keep all my patches, and saves intact? I put many patches on there, including the AMD64 upgrade and would like to avoid re-doing all that.
    Thanks for any help.

As long as you are not changing the operating system, just changing the drive where farcry resides, I think ths will work. I know you can copy the entire folder to another directory and run the game from either location.
If you are also reinstalling windows, then it will not work since the registry will not be the same.
