Thread: Frustrating skills | Forums

  1. #1
I'm not gonna talk about whether these skills are balanced or not. That's a different topic... Anyway, there we go:

There are a few skills in the game that are very frustrating to fight against. These include Poison (Archer and Assasin), Blindness and Brambles (Priest), and those easy to use instant kill skills (Like the mage's "fire grenades").

The devs obviously didn't notice that a weapon isn't just supposed to be fun to use. This is a multiplayer game: fighting against that weapon must be fun, and I don't think there's any fun in being blind for 15-20 seconds, getting slowed down to ridiculous speeds or dying without being able to even defend yourself. Yeah, all those skills are fine for players in that class. But 4/5 of the players (Well, not really. That'd be if classes were balanced...) will be using a different class...

Oh, there's also the lame AutoAim that warriors have. Even though you've blinded them, they can still know where you are and kill you...

Anyway, I think these type of skills should be changed. Don't take me wrong, I'm not asking for a nerf. I'm just saying that those are very annoying and frustrating skills, which shouldn't be in a game like this...

as elman said, u cant just put in overpowered skills because they r fun to use. They need to seriously ballance the skills cause basically my game expirience is....choose warrior, take the spawn point nearest the action, wait 15 seconds, run towards the fighting, get brambled by an annoying priest, get blinded by poisen, amble around like a donkey for the following few seconds before everyone finishes me off....its just a bit silly. Needs some serious ballancing...but then again, it is a beta and thats what its for. I think they would have done better making a co-op though rather than this atm ridiculous deathmatch. You cant give people what they want cause then u would just end up with totally overpowered spells blasting the **** out of everyone.

Yes, the auto-targetting feature is my one extremely serious qualm with this game.

Auto-Targeting makes the warrior similar in power to the mage and the priestess

We can do anything... we only need to propose it!

Gotta blind/poison them before they get an auto-lock off =)

Makes it much, much harder for them to do so.

Thats a stupid thing to ask imo. Those skills are extremley important for those classes, Unlike warriors they can just slash u death where as other classes dont have it as easy.

No class is similar in power to a priestess. Priests don't have to aim at all, just hold the mouse button down and it's a near-instant kill. And then there's brambles that makes them completely invincible to warriors unless you get a surprise attack, then you might have a chance. (But any class can beat another with a surprise attack)

I know these skills are part of the classes' balance. But I don't think making 2 or 3 new balanced skills that are not frustrating to fight against is that hard, is it?

I totally agree. And what's more, adding to the annoyance of brambles is the fact that *friendly* brambles work the same way. Basically priestesses go bramble-happy and screw everyone up.
