Sorry, but mine still crashed 20 seconds into the game.
20 sec into the game?
Try downloading the latest drivers for your video card and see if it helps, i used to have the same problem with crysis crashing all the time but after i updated my drivers it was fine.
MAN THIS WORKED !!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!`
Now what are we supposed to do? I'm not understanding this.
download the rar file, extract, copy and paste the 2 files into your assassins creed directory and make sure you replace them (both DX9 and DX10 files). Play the game.
It fixed the error but I'm wondering what you did to fix it. Any chance you could share your wisdom with us lesser beings? :-P
It worked for me, just wonder if it will clash with the patch that they will have to produce to fix all the other stuff
Looks like a standard "no-cd" fix to me, but it didn't solve any crashes. I updated my video drivers and it hasn't crashed since using the official install. And yes, if the patch the game these would likely be rendered useless.
If everything works fine after you replaced those two files then leave it alone unless the game is unplayable and you really need to install a patch.
@slait1972: It's not a standard no-cd fix because a friend of mine had altered the two files to stop the game from crashing every 10-20 minutes or so on his pc and it also worked on mine.
