ok im in the gear room and ive tried the whole run and push the buttons before the pillar falls but im getting no where, what am i missing

You need to get that pillar as high as it will go, run to pull the first switch, run back to the pillar and get it up, hit one of the foot pedals, back to pillar, other foot pedal, pillar, second switch on wall.

Raise the pillar, switch 1, pillar, gear peddle, pillar, gear pedal, pillar, sw 2, sw 3, sw 4

A few tips:
- There are buttons on the wall.
- There are pedals on the floor.
- The pillar can not reach the floor before the gear is up or you will have to start over.

well now that thats done ive been around the builing a few times, ive been on the roof and i seem to be running in circles

On the roof, go down the bridge and you'll see another building spinning around. Your journey continues there.
