Thread: Is this info still accurate? | Forums

If not, whats changed?

A while back, I had someone repeatedly one-shot me at range with the 552 commando even though its supposedly inferior, and he cited tweaks to the weapon stats...

So, is my beloved AK still the king of the single-shot long range rifles?

Lot's of factors to involve, but he could have been the host, He could just be a really good shot, you could have had extra lag. And those stats are/can be pretty misleading, I've killed people porch to porch on streets with a spas12. I've also had people walk right through point blank MTAR spray. There is a huge luck/random chance factor. Good luck!

Pretty accurate as Hanky says but not dead accurate. That doc is dated Dec 06', that's 3 patches ago. After the 3rd patch the 552 is a very nice weapon. I started on the TAR and the mp7 before the 1st patch but after patch 3, damage is down on the mp7 and the TAR has more kick and is a little more unwieldy.

The AK is more accurate on single shot at range but when running and gunning I can't hit the broad side of a barn and find the Commando has a nice blend of damage, accuracy, and long range lethality.

So what's changed? Shotguns, snipers, subbies and ARs (that's referring to Assault Rifles for all you Colt fans), at least one or two guns from every category show somw difference since December.

What's the answer you say? I suggest trying EVERY single weapon there is including the ones you have have an irrational dislike for and then you won't need that PDF because you'll be your own best reference. Don't be afraid to get pwned while trying a new gun cause you might just find your next best friend.

I have always found that the ak seems most accurate on full auto tapping single shots out with no scope.

So has anyone else done any tests like that since the most recent patches?

You mention which guns got changed, but not HOW they were changed- and while I'd appreciate specifics, I'd also like... you know... some general idea of what the changes were.

For example: Snipers are... what? More damaging? Less damaging? Faster to reload? Slower to reload?

Not to be sarcastic but the SEARCH feature is great. in 2 short minutes I found the results of the last patch:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...3471008155/p/1

Specific to the weapons (it's high level, non specific):
> Modified the efficiency of certain Sub-Machine Guns and, to a lesser extent, Assault Rifles. Noticeable changes can be found on the MP7A1, MP9 and MTAR21.

Which is why as I recommended before, you'll want to do away with any nonsense graphs and get out there and field test yourself. No one can tell you what the best gun for you is. Heck If I ran with the MTAR and the MP7, honestly I wouldn't score as high as I do with the 552 and If I ran with the auto shottie I'd score even WORSE!

And now sticking to my own advice I tried the AUG this weekend and this gun rocks. If I'd gone by some bull**** chart it would've told me it's lousy at distance (with 2 bars) but ya know what, I was cappin' dudes from clean across "the Yards" all day Sunday... wooho! I think I got a new girlfriend.
