If I had to pick one that's almost impossible.

    It's got to be between:

    Spitfire MkI.
    English Electric Lightning.

Bf109G2 of course but only on the condition I start from a slingshot and finish in a safety net.

Yar, that's a toughie. If I could own an aircraft it'd be a PBY or a Grumman Goose sort of thing. If I could fly any aircraft. Well, now you are talking. Is it a balls to the wall ride like an EE lightning or an F-105? Or something elegant and an all rounder like a Viper or a Fulcrum?

I think I'd probably go with the venerable F-86 Sabre.

That's a tough question. A Spitfire would be an obvious choice for me, but F_f's post got me thinking:

    Sikorsky Ilya Muromets.

A bf-109. But i'd like a floatplane for leisurely flying, and maybe a Bf-108 so that I can share the Messer experience with friends and family.
