Thread: Can't install Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory | Forums

I tried to install SCCT just now but I came across some problems. First, the autorun dosen't appear, so I've gotta open the CD folder and open setup file manually, (the second CD drive won't even recognize the CD). Well then, everything seems to work fine until this pops up:

Erm yea. What the **** does that mean?

SCCT has worked fine for me before and I haven't touched the CD ever since I played it, back then it worked with no problems. Our computer has been acting weird lately so I hope it's some kind of software error (though the CD is in fact a bit scratchy). I'm gonna try and install it at a friends computer and see if it's the same problem there.

I remember a CD I had (with music on it) which was very scracthy so you couldn't listen to it, but then I played it on another stereo, it sounded exactly the same as when it was new, weird huh? Was just wondering, is it possible it may be the same with computer drives?

Anyone know what I can do? I don't want to buy another copy of the game

well first off, it's a DVD, not a CD. second, you could force the store you bought it from to give you an exchange for a non-scratched disc (legally they have to).

uhm, you could send it to Ubisoft then. try their support website and ask them what to do support.ubi.com
EDIT: Oh wait, I just saw you said it worked before. Um, try scanning your pc for viruses, and delete any Adware or Spyware.

It still could be a damaged disc problem. The information on a DVD is more closely packed so a scratch may cause problems on a game disc that you might not notice on an audio CD. UBI can sell you a replacement but I don't remember how much it costs (maybe $10?).
