First of all i dont think the game its a total fail, i enjoyed the necro campaign , but after playing 3 days like a nerd lots of hours, i started to play only a few hours for several days and actually i dindt played the game anymore for another several days, i dont know why is it, maybe for the simplicity of the resources and skills, for the never ending battles in the campaign, or for the many bugs and town screens but im not getting fun anymore with this, some of you guys think the same?

No, I still like the game. I just wait to play until they patch the bugs out. I can't play it when half of the skills just don't work.

Yes, while the bugs and other unfinished stuff for the game don't help, I think the biggest problem is how repetitive the campaign maps are.

While the story is good, the maps themselves don't hold a candle to those in previous heroes games. They're generally way too big with no actual content other than neutrals guarding some random junk.

The worst I found so far is the last Inferno mission, where the enemy has a SINGLE town, which you can take early. Once you take it, you have to kill neutrals all over the map just to complete the quest, with no way to lose or be challenged whatsoever.

Yeah. Skill & strategy system is totally unbalanced and with no variety. Maps are meaninglessly large. Endless stream of neutral combats are horribly boring.

    This is ridiculous.

My overall impressions are still mostly positive. I am thoroughly enjoying the changes that they've made now that I've come to accept this as a *different* member of the series. I tend to at least partially agree with the theme of the thread though... I find this game a lot more repetitive than previous iterations to the series. It feels to me like the negative side of the "streamlining" process they seemed to focus on has come back to just make the game more same-same game after game, a lot less variety in outcome and gameplay once they removed the random and micro-management elements (whether you liked them or not, isn't my point here). Most games seem to play out the same now, and there is less evolution/enjoyment playing larger/gigantic maps as there was in previous games (IMHO).

I'm going to keep playing anyway, I am enjoying it none-the-less and I have optimistic hopes over what future patches/expansions might bring to alleviate these repetition qualms some of us are having.

Bored? I've not had this much fun from a single player game in a long time.

Sure the campaign maps are large. It is good for those who like battles after battles. Me- I only fight if I want to level up or if I want the treasure or mines they are guarding. The occasional quests are nice. And I notice more tactics from the AI heroes in the adventure map than Heroes V.

The bugs are annoying, yes, and I wish they fix them, but they are not game breaking. And I don't care about the town screens. I actually like the story, lore, skill system, visuals etc. I haven't even started skirmish or multiplayer yet. I'm having too much fun with the campaigns.

Same as Alvin, I don't find H6 to be boring, maps are repetitive but that's mainly because skills are unbalanced and there's no more random in skills, so you quickly get what you want and then make easy wins on each battle with the same tactic. AI is stupid and always attacks the same units, even when it can't destroy a single creature (use reinforcements on dogs, AI will still attack the dogs).
Even AI heroes are always the same, same spells, same skills, same tactic, so yes this is what makes H6 repetitive.

For the rest, all the side quests are fun, and the gameplay is really usual, I've had more fun doing the campaigns on H6 than on H5, even if they are pretty easier on this new opus. So, not bored at all, I still enjoy playing!

Yes. If we had more spells and skills to choose from, I guess people would have had much less complaints. I guess that is something we'll get with expansions.

actually i never finished any campaign in any heroes.... theyy were all boring. What gives heroes long years of play is multiplayer specially hotseat (for me ) and i am yet to start playing it with friends and girlfriend

Well i'd say its repetitive because of the whole skill system. You find yourself a valid spec, and keep playing it.
In the old heroes games you used to get new skills randomly with experience which made the game fun as you keep playing. I too am bored of the game already, im stuck at the first game of the necro campaign coz i spent too much time and i truly do not want to play all that again. Give the same skills, same stuff ...
