They just took our most beloved series, took everything that was original from it(realistic, no gun in FPV, reticle, etc...) and completely threw it out the window for some options form counterstrike so they make it more appealing to the mass crowds. Well UBI, if you don't make the weapons toggable, and start getting some of this priginal stuff back in, then you just eliminated most of your Fan-Base, who enjoyed Rogue Spear not out of spite, but because it was more different from all of the other n00b FPS games. Please UBI don't just throw the whole damn series besides the name....

well, you know... I felt the same way about it, but now since I've looked at some of the new screenshots at ravenshield platoon, it doesn't look so bad.... I mean, why should they stop short of being totally original and realistic? I don't know, I don't think we should be too disapointed with the final product...
it looks extremely promising, and it may give some more realism to the already-realistic series...
I mean if they have the technology, why not take advantage of it and go for more realism? Why hold them back, because we're too afraid of change? We're just afraid that by them changing it, they will cagg it... they may surprise us!

WHY? Why must you bring counter-strike into this dicussion? The gun models are far different then that of any current fps out there, and positioned far better. And are you truly saying that this game is now unrealistic for having some FoV blockage because of a gun? Sorry - but thats life. Also, if you think the world is over and the Rainbow six series is now failed because of this o-so-satanic FPWM...seek help.

Forget about improved movement, lightning, physics and numerous other improvements. The first person weapon view negates everything else and makes the game a pure arcade experience, It's evil i tell ya!!!

Tom Clancy hasn't failed us yet. Sure there are rants and things we don't like / wish & what not, but they still have not come short on making a good quality game. Let's give it some time gentlemen!

Recently I read that since the team were making such good progress, they could push for an Autumn release (Fall for the Yanks). I say: guys, don't rush it. take some extra time to polish and make the game just that little bit better.
Remember: If a game is rushed to release, it's bad forever.
However, if a game's delayed, it can be made good. Just take your time devs, although the community really wants this game, there's no need to rush.

Defuser, Ambassador I agree with you totally. The point I was trying to make was that people should calm down a bit. In my opinion 1 small thing such as this will not make or break this game.

You seem to think that a lack of a first person weapon model made the game MORE realistic, when in reality, it made it less realistic. I would of course prefer that they allow us to aim with the iron sites, but the current weapon model they have is at least a start.
