Thread: Cheaters. Many. Here and there. Everywhere! | Forums

    I noted that eco cheating proliferates at tremendous rate, friends. In most cases cheating is subtle, like building stuff 25-50% over legal income - just enough to shift balance in cheater's behalf. I remember that in first patches there was "VAC added". It just doesnt seem to work. Reporting cheaters is also a futile option as we dont have any feedback, no bans announced etc. It seems strange to me that people of this forum pay so little attention on such a painful problem. You guys are interested in units balancing, smth "overpowered", how-tos, playerbase etc, thats OK, but what about cheating? Do you not recognize subtle cheating? Review your games and count enemy stuff - yeah, count by hand, piece-by-piece, long and boring accounting, then compare it to their legal income + $200 at start. My cheaters were too many to report.

    Is that an unresolveable problem for devs to let program do all math online and disco cheaters? Of course, no. They simply dont care - just as you do.

    What many people consider cheating is just experienced players out manoeuvring them. I have been called a hacker in the past for simply using the fake units RUSE to pump out what looks like 10 tanks right at the start of the game.

    I honestly doubt there is cheaters everywhere

    There is a actually a replay on the front page of RuseReplays uploaded by mcpu that clearly shows a guy cheating... he pumps out countless units continuously... but i doubt there are many cheaters everywhere. Not for RUSE anyway.

    If you can't outright see someone with no depots spamming more units than you then they aren't cheating. They could be camoflauging an entire base and area that is filled with depots, or not have spent as much as you think. The original hacks were believed to edit your starting income, not your depot income. At the end of the game check the total income for an entire team and if someone has managed to spend/lose units in excess of that value (team's combined income from all sources divided by # of players) then you may be on to something.

    People i know what i say.
    I AM an experienced player myself, now levels 80+
    What i do is i count every unit a suspect makes, every building he builds, every research he does, and multiply that on costs of units that are known. Yes, its long but effective. And there's no mistake in my audit. I would never argue in terms like "mmm...i didnt see many of his depots...is he cheating?"

    but even though they have lots of money and units doen't mean they have strategy or can micro well. :P

    Why would you waste your time counting all of his units? Who cares if someone cheats? You should be able to overcome it anyway if your half decent!

    Every single cheater i have met, i have beaten, simply because these players are not skilled enough to know how to use all their extra money... if you see 10 protos in less then 2mins, just make an airfield or more, fill it with bombers and recons, and get his HQ and other bases...

    Another way is just sneak an barracks in... and put it so, that the hq will be in the middle and his units on the other side and rush the inf in and capture what you can...

    I am level 50, and i am sure there are not many cheaters around, and remember+ those who cheats, dont understand the gameplay, they are easy to beat!
