Thread: Couple questions | Forums

    Hey,

I've had SC and PT for a while and I've been thinking about buying CT and DA. First of all, do both games still have lively multiplayer?

Also, is the StarForce thing that huge of a deal? I own WinXP I think its 32 bit, not sure...heres a link to my exact model: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us...58937&dlc=en&lang=en

I know my video card isn't powerful enough to run DA, but I'm thinking about buying a cheap upgrade on DirecTron.com

    Thanks in advance,

    Tari

DA's multiplayer has been dead for a while.
Only for like a month or two, CT's also degrading AFAIK.

The game's also getting old, and all strategies have been made and countered and counter-countered etc.

So the veterans are moving on (I play more TF2 and since yesterday Mass Effect). You can still get a few good games if you have xfire and ask around.

Frvge stop scaring everybody that's interested in Double Agent. Just because we don't like it doesn't mean he won't. =D
Tariquari: To be honest. It's impossible to know how many people are playing DA because there's no online lobby. No lobby means no lobby population number. Also there are lag problems on the PC version, and the connection behaves like the stepchild you just found out you had. There might be thousands of people trying to play online that simply aren't able to.

Frvge is right about Chaos Theory. Most of the people there will kick your *** without even blinking. Not including me of course. The lobby population peaks during the weekends at noontimes. Unfortunately, everyone's using the World lobby for some reason, so there's always the chances of meeting somebody who speaks a completely different language and only that.
Among some problems in CT are:
    1) Spy *****s: guys that refuse to go merc. Most of them are little kids. Kick them or use them for target practice. Almost all spy *****s are terrible spies and even worse mercs.
    2) Lag: It sucks. If your playing against somebody from a different continent, you can count on it.
    3) Frustration: People who kick your *** without blinking get tiring after a while, please don't send you foot through your monitor.

All good points and good advice on the topic of Chaos Theory: Versus. There are still a few of us "vets" out there that are more than willing to answer questions about the game and help a newb learn the game. (note i said newb not noob)

About Double Gaygent, scworld doesn't have to scare anyone away when you describe the setting so well. Thousands of people is pretty unlikely tthough since there were never even near that many people ever playing CT.

Yeah sorry about that. Exaggerated a bit. I can't help but assume that DA versus might have more people than CT because DA is much more mainstream. At least for the 360 community, with its more reliable connection. Like I said, it's impossible to know for sure.

I'm pretty sure the 360 has just as bad of problems with connection issues that the PC version does. And from my understanding there is no one really playing DA "versus" on the 360 either.
