    how can i make beaches for my map? i just cant seem to figure it out. any help would be appreciated

    I assume you mean by beach, sand boarding the water.

    Create textures using the textures tab. Create a new texture and give it a nice sand coloured texture. Set its beginning height to 15 and end to 17. The water by default is at 16. This should create a nice area around the map along the waters edge.
