I have a problem with normal map on objects that have multiple materials. Color map is displayed correctly, but normal map not. Is there a way to fix it, or the only way is to use 3DsMax/Maya?

Hi,
take a look here if it's not already done.
Here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...131044638#8131044638
and here:

Look in the two tutorials, for blender and also for 3DSMax even if you work on blender only.
Maybe i dont understand your question but i hope this will help you.
Heh.. problem solved. I figured it out yesterday
Now i'm fighting with multiple materials object with color, normal, surface color and surface normal maps. Lol! Twice. When I was writing this post I have opened ChromED and what happend? Object that have wrong surface coordinates now it's correct! MiracleI don't know. Maybe the solution is to restart system

Yes, some material settings require you to reboot the editor. I remember that when I wanted to change the water material I had to reboot the editor every time I edited the material script file to see the change.Originally posted by vetipl:

Hopefully I'm only responsible for making custom models, so my map is simple as hellI'm just using it to test my models, so restart isn't very long

1) In normal map image remember to switch alpha channel with one of the color channels. Chceck Manuals page on COJModding.com - there's a tutorial about making models.
2) Double click on the model, go to "Info" tab, there should be a "<MatName>.mat" file. Right click on it and choose "Reload material". This will work fine but the textures require restart...
Actually I knew about that, but thanks for your concern
I have other problem: how to scale surface textures? Sometimes surface normal is so tiny, but sometimes it's quite big. I have tried to use "f_nrm_uv_scale", but whatever it goes with - 1 or 1000 there is no difference.
Ok. Problem partly solved. I managed to control the size of surface normal by increasing/decreasing file resolution. It works, but I'm 100% sure that there is a way without changing file resolution.
