Anybody notice that most of the time someone complains about bad weather he/she actually wants an unrealistic killfest with the deck gun.

Nope! Kinda hard to surface my boat when the convoy is escorted by a destroyer and most of the merchants are armed.

I have to admit I noticed the same thing. Seems convoys are a plenty when it is Heavy fog and rain, but are like hens teeth when it is nice out.
    heheh
Oh well, still manage to sink em

I have a problem with the weather, it takes only hours to go from good to bad, but weeks to go from bad to good.

Either this is a bug or my game is faulty.

I've noticed the same thing with weather. I once did a little test where I simply sat still in the water and checked the weather every 8 hours for the equivalant of 3 weeks!! I did this in several locations (off coast of Portugal, North Sea, US coast, South America etc etc). Everytime the weather changed from clear to storm within a couple of days and lasted for the entire time (approx 3 weeks) in each location till I got bored and thought "I've got no life..."

Perhaps this is a bug? I don't know. But it is just a little annoying. I don't want clear good weather all the time. After all it is the Atlantic Ocean... But a bit more variety would spice things up.

Yep, saddly I have got the same problem. the weather needs to be fixed a bit. I have been wondering were those 30' or so waves are hiding. In those sort of conditions the only thing you can do is hang on or submerge.
