Thread: GF4200 TI sunset reflex | Forums

  1. #1
    Hi I am pretty content with my old GF4 and I use it in perfect settings.
    Only the Sunset waterreflextion looks strange:

    My comp:
    P3 2,4
    GF4200TI 128 latest Drivers
    1G RAM

    Suggestions how to fix this?

    Hey, I've seen this before.
    My system specs are equal to yours...(Well, I've got a P4 2,4Ghz, but your 'P3 2,4' must be a typo...)
    But I find perfect to be unplayable regarding drop in FPS..
    So, how's your FPS, and what resolution and other settings do you use?

    You are right it is a P4.
    This sun reflection looks so bad that it is not nice for me to play in perfect settings. The FPS are OK though (did not measure it). This reflection thing is not influenced by water settings (0/1/2). I do not use anisotr. filter and antialiasing and I have this new Java installed.

    [Render_OpenGL]
    PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15
    PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0
    TexQual=3
    TexMipFilter=2
    TexCompress=0
    TexFlags.UseDither=1
    TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
    TexFlags.UseIndex=0
    TexFlags.PolygonStipple=1
    TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
    TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
    TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
    TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
    TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
    TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
    TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
    TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
    TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
    TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
    TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

    TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
    TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
    TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
    TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

    HardwareShaders=0

    Shadows=2
    Specular=2
    SpecularLight=2
    DiffuseLight=2
    DynamicalLights=1
    MeshDetail=2
    VisibilityDistance=3

    Sky=2
    Forest=2
    LandShading=3
    LandDetails=2

    LandGeom=2
    TexLarge=1
    TexLandQual=3
    TexLandLarge=1

    VideoSetupId=3
    Water=2
    Effects=0
    ForceShaders1x=0

    Because I like the improved viewdistance I would really like to play in perfect setting. I hope I find a way to do so.

    What's your resolution? I use 1152x864
    ThaBlackDeatchtrack runs at excelent at about 28-30FPS AVG
    Perfect gives me too much stutters and all, don't remember FPS...
    Will try your conf.ini part 'in blind trust' (LOL)
    Will report on that later...
    My Conf.ini looks like:
    [Render_OpenGL]
    TexQual=3
    TexMipFilter=2
    TexCompress=0
    TexFlags.UseDither=1
    TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
    TexFlags.UseIndex=0
    TexFlags.PolygonStipple=1
    TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
    TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
    TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
    TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
    TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
    TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
    TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
    TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
    TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
    TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
    TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

    TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
    TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
    TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
    TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

    PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15
    PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0

    HardwareShaders=0

    Shadows=2
    Specular=2
    SpecularLight=2
    DiffuseLight=2
    DynamicalLights=1
    MeshDetail=2
    VisibilityDistance=3

    Sky=2
    Forest=1
    LandShading=3
    LandDetails=2

    LandGeom=2
    TexLarge=1
    TexLandQual=3
    TexLandLarge=1

    VideoSetupId=3
    Water=0
    Effects=0
    ForceShaders1x=0

    Hm, no change in FPS with your settings....
    Looks all the same to me!
    (Well, have not compared them, could be they are equal?)

    Anyhow, I've seen your sun-effects on the water the same way you have them... must be the 4200.
    "Get an 9800 Pro" they told me... could be, but I'll wait, the time will come that I will need all new parts, not just a video card...

    Try setting this
    ForceShaders1x=0
    to
    ForceShaders1x=1
    for older Gf4 ti series

    I have the exact same sun glare problem as you Spy17... Happend after I applied 3.01m and before it was OK. I've tried toggle several graphic options in conf.ini (including ForceShaders1x=1) but the problems persists and I really hope anyone knows a fix/workaround?

    I'm using an GF4 Ti4200 128 MB with 60.72 drivers, DirectX 9.0b running XP Pro.

    TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
    TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
    TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
    TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
    TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
    TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
    TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
    TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
    TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
    TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

    TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
    TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
    TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
    TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

    HardwareShaders=1

    Shadows=2
    Specular=2
    SpecularLight=2
    DiffuseLight=2
    DynamicalLights=1
    MeshDetail=2
    VisibilityDistance=3

    Sky=2
    Forest=2
    LandShading=3
    LandDetails=2

    LandGeom=2
    TexLarge=1
    TexLandQual=3
    TexLandLarge=1

    VideoSetupId=17
    Water=1
    Effects=1
    ForceShaders1x=1

    Thanks for posting this Snoopy!

    Setting Dither=Off fixed the problem for me... Since I'm avoiding swapping drivers and this version works great with all other sims I'm still using 60.72.

    Now I'm able to enjoy Perfect settings again with my old (but thrusty) GF4 Ti4200

    Thanks again!
