<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How do I mine stones?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: The Stone cutters Hut may not be built next to randomly placed stones, but has to be placed next to a stone mine. You will recognize them by a floating Stone symbol over them. They are also indicated on the Mini map with the same symbol.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Why is my mine worker not working?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Apparently the Miner's Hut is blocking the entrance to the mine and the worker can not enter. Tear down the Building and rebuild farther away!</span>
<span class="ev_code_RED">General questions:</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: What is the purpose of the code input field under "Options"?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: This field unlocks the exclusive statues for the game. One unlock-code has already been published by the moderators: 0025722953 (Pavilion)
Attention: It´s an exclusive Feature for the Ubi-shop Edition</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Do I get any advantage from these exclusive Statues?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: No, but they do cost money and stone. They're only meant as a beautification for your City. There are no advantages to any player in the MP-Mode, regardless of which Edition you own.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How do I turn buildings?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Buildings can be turned while holding down the Shift key (upper/lower case) and by turning the scroll wheel.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: I do not have a scroll-wheel; can I still turn the buildings?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Here you can find a scroll wheel Emulator: Unzip the file and install the executable file included. After that, you can press Page Up/Down while holding down the shift key to turn the buildings.

<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How do I make Screen shots?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: If antialising is active, all screen shots are black. You have to turn it off in the graphic options, or you can use other programs to create Screen shots:
Snapsaver
Fraps </span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: On the backside of the settlers 6 box is a game pad with the text "Support XBox 360 Controller for Windows." Can I use the controller in the game?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: No, the controller is not usable in the game.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: What purpose do Women have in the Game?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: The Women take over some of the work. They clean the house and do the shopping. This allows the men to work more efficiently, thus produce more.
An example (by Ubi_Thom) illustrates:
A Baker (level 1) needs the following goods to produce three loaves of bread
- 1x Food
- 1x Clothes
- 1x cleaning goods
- 1x Entertainment (Tavern or Bath)
At level 2 he will produce four loaves for the same amount of goods
At level 3 he produces five loaves
If he has a spouse the ratio can be raised to 6:1
For the Settler to find a spouse you have to start a Festival. To do this select the Market-place and click the Festival-icon above the Well.
Any Settlers who feel the need for entertainment will go to the Festival and any Settlers who have not yet found a spouse will try to find one. After the Festival is over you can see the number of spouses gained for this particular Festival for a short time (located under the City-information-bar). </span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Is there a settler limit?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Yes, the limit is 200 settlers.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: I have received a mission, where I have to provide another city with certain goods! How do I do that?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: It is important for the accumulation of the goods to deny the consumption of those specific goods. Go to the building menu (button above the Mini map) and click on the building, which produces the sought-after goods.
If you then click the button on the bottom right, the product will no longer be available to your settlers. Remember to uncheck the box after sending the needed goods.
Once you have the required goods click on the button to the left of the screen to open the image of the demanding major. At the right side of that image is a button with a cart. Clicking on the cart-icon will send your products to the village.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How do I save a game in multiplayer?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Sorry, you can´t.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Is there an AI in Multiplayer mode?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: No, an AI is not available in MP mode. </span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. When does the mission end?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: The buttons to your Quests are located to the left of the screen. The Quest which will end your mission is circled by oak leaves.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. I want to celebrate a festival. How do I get the carts off the market place?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: By selecting the cart at the Marketplace, a button appears next to the Mini map, from there you can send the cart away.
Caution: The message also appears if the cart is still on the way to you. Then you have to locate it by its icon on the Mini map to send it back.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. Why can't I start a savegame?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A. Several possibilities:
1. The most likely: You are playing Rekkyr (Mission 6)
You are able to save this mission, but it is not possible to restart from a savegame.
This only applies to mission 6.
Because the Mission cannot be restarted from a savegame, you have to play the mission all the way through. But don´t despair the mission isn't hard.
2. Second option: Once the Update/Patch is installed you are no longer able to restart any mission from a previous created savegame. But your progress in the campaign will not be lost. After the patch is installed you are able to save new games and restart them.
3. A third possibility: There is the possibility that a savegame becomes corrupted. If that happens you can no longer restart any savegame until you manually delete the corrupted file/savegame which is always the latest (highest number). Once that is done you can restart any other savegame.
4. Any other problem? Contact the tech-forum.</span>
<span class="ev_code_RED">Questions about the economy:</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: In what quantities and where are Products and Resources stored?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: All resources produced are taken by the workers to the Store-House. The Capacity of the Store-House appears when you hover over it with your mouse. The capacity can be increased three times by upgrading the building.
Refined Products are only stored in their respective building (max 9 Unit per building) and not in the Store-House.
Therefore your maximum storage capacity of one specific Product depends on the number of the respective buildings. (To deliver 18 Loaves of bread, you need to build a minimum of two bakeries
Resources are taken to the Store-house by farmers, miners, beekeepers and gatherers, from there they are picked up by the workers of the City buildings (grain -> Bakery etc.)
There they'll refine the resources into specific products. Then store them in their own building until other settlers in need of that product, collect it.
The only way to generate income for a City building is: A settlers is in need of a specific product and collect it from the referring building, then the income of that building will rise. If this building is too far from a well used path, then the frequency of selling a product can be beaten by the collected taxes, so eventually you will have a building which will not get rich. In this case you can lower the taxes in the castle, than even this building will get rich after awhile.
To repeat that for Clarity:
A farmer will gather 9 units of grain before he takes the grain to the Store-house (not the bakery).
The baker gets one unit of grain from the Store-House and will bake one loaf of bread.
He stores the bread in his bakery, (max9 loaves) he doesn't take it to the Store-House.
Another Settler will come and collect a loaf if he is in need for Food.
Because of the higher frequency of the baker needing to go to the Store-House, it is important to place him as near to the Store-House as possible to work efficiently.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. Will the Deer/Fish resources regenerate / What happens after depletion?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Deer resources have a capacity limit. Their reaction to OVER HUNTING depends on the climate zone you play in. We have observed that in the cold and mild zone the resources are fairly stable. Two (level 3) Hunter´s Huts will produce a message of depletion from time to time, but not permanently damage the resource.
In the Warm/Hot zone however, there just one Hunter´s Hut (level 3) can force the deer to change their location, even vanish. In that case the symbol on the mini map will vanish, too. So be careful with nature in the hot zone. :-)
So far no one has observed a location change or depletion of a fish resource. So go fishing as much as you like.
[COLOR:BLACK]Q. Sheep? Cows? Where do I get them, how do I deal with them?
[COLOR:BLUE]A: Both sheep and cows can be purchased from a trading partner or can be found in the wild. It is possible to create a map without both possibilities as they are not essential for winning most Quests. (Except the ones where it is necessary to become Herzog)
The following applies also to cows:
To get the sheep that are walking around in a neutral territory, simply acquire that territory by building an Outpost on it.
If you do that or buy sheep at a friendly trading post (One click buys 5 sheep at a time) they will walk to your nearest sheep farm with pasture(s) by themselves. They will pass unharmed through enemy territory or Bandit camp.
To build a sheep farm, don´t forget to place corresponding pasture(s) near it by selecting the farm and clicking the button with the pasture symbol.
The amount of wool gathered by the farmer depends on how many sheep you acquire and the distance to the nearest water. The farmer needs to collect water for the sheep and will do so at the towns well or a river or a sea, whichever is nearest to the farm.
Here is a tip from extrem1951:
To acquire sheep or cows from an enemy, you have to destroy his pastures and farms first, before you destroy the enemy's Outpost in that territory. Otherwise the sheep will walk to the enemy's Town and be killed if you destroy the enemy complete.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How will my settlers get rich?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Your Settlers have to sell their Products. You can see the actual gold collected by a city building when you select it. When the gold reaches 30/100, the building is listed as rich. To reach that point, you have to avoid placing too many buildings of the same type. For example, Ten Taverns and Baths are very unlikely to get rich at the same time. There will always be some of them remaining poor as there are many more goods than needed. Also you will want to place your buildings near the market-place or along well used path/roads. It also helps to lower the taxes in the castle.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. How many Decorators do I need?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Unlike in the demo the decorative objects are no longer being used up, at least not at a noticeable rate. Usually one building per type (candle maker, banner maker, carpenter and blacksmith) will do the job. The only advantage in building more than one of a kind is the decorating will be done faster.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Do I have an advantage of producing different products from one category?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Yes, a variety of goods (for example if you not only produce sausage, but also bread, fish and cheese) have a positive impact on the reputation of your city. If you deliver all possible products of a certain type (like four different foods) you will see a green star with the respective icon below the city-reputation-bar boosting your actual reputation.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: I don´t understand some aspects in the economic cycle of the settlers 6? Can someone help me?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A:
Here is a secondary thread, in which many things about the economic cycle are explained in more detail. Sorry, not yet translated. </span>
<span class="ev_code_RED">Diplomatic issues / military questions </span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Can I change the diplomatic status of the AI?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: No, the diplomatic status cannot be changed manually. However, it is possible like in the SinglePlayermap "Roadblock". There you have the choice to fight the red enemy, or you pay him 300 gold and he will even become a Trading Partner. It depends on what the Mapmaker is willing to give you.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: How do I trade with neighboring villages?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Option 1: Buying Resources/Products:
Send your hero to the Store-house of your trading-partner (The status is indicates in the diplomatic menu and by some gold coins floating over the store-house). When the hero is near the Store-house, a Menu will float over the building where you can buy the offered goods. You can check the price by hovering the mouse over the desired product.
Option 2: Selling Resources/Products
To sell your products select your own Store-House. Your currently available resources will be shown in a window left to the Mini map. When you select one, you can move the slider to the desired amount and choose between selling it to a known trading partner by clicking their symbols above the slider or destroying the resource by clicking the trashcan. This can be necessary if your Store-House is at its capacity limit and you have to make room for other resources to be gathered. You also have the possibility selling Products by clicking the building tab on the left of the menu. There you will be shown the products currently stored in your city buildings. You will need this option to solve the delivery Quest in Juahar (mission10)</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Which purpose has the City-reputation-bar? / How do I make my soldiers stronger?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: The reputation of your city raises the strength of your soldiers. If you select your soldiers, you will see a certain number of stars (max5) on the left side of the mini map. More reputation means more stars, meaning more strength for your soldiers. Also your Soldiers are stronger in your own territory than on neutral or enemy territory.
How to get a good reputation of the town is very carefully described in the manual on page 13.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. How do I attack buildings / how do I get new torches?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: You can attack enemy buildings with your soldiers or a catapult.
The Catapult needs new ammunition after ten shots, which you can buy at your Store-House by selecting it and clicking the floating button with a cart symbol on it. That will generate a Stone-Cart at the cost of ten Stones, delivering ten shots to the catapult by driving it next to an empty one. The recharging will begin automatically. If you select the Cart and right click a catapult, the cart will automatically follow the catapult wherever you direct it. You could also capture the ammunition-carts from the enemy and recharge your catapults. Just select a unit of your own soldiers and right click the enemy cart. Then it will change color and now belongs to you. This will become very handy when you attack the enemy Store-House or Church, because often the enemy replaces the overtaken carts endlessly in front of the Store-House
Each soldier is wearing a torch, as indicated by the white numbers above them. The right Number counts the soldiers in the Unit; the left shows you how many torches they have left. When your Soldiers are out of torches, you have to send them to an Outpost (belonging to you), barrack or your Castle. There the torches are recharged automatically. The hero Markus can recharge the surrounding soldiers with torches by clicking the top symbol left to the mini map after selecting him.
The catapult can attack ALL enemy buildings including stone walls and gates, which soldiers cannot attack.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. Who can attack whom?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Heroes attack swordsmen, archers, ram carts, catapult carts, siege tower carts, heroes, thieves and tax collectors.
Swordsmen attack all of the above and buildings, wooden palisades, gates and outposts.
They take over ammunition carts and assembled catapults, rams and siege towers.
For archers it is the same, but only they attack units on opposing walls and outposts. Archers
have infinite ammunition.
Ram Carts must be escorted with soldiers and assembled, then they can attack Gates (Not Bill). They need no ammunition. They can also attack walls but are very ineffective.
Siege Towers attack no one but will get your soldiers over a City wall of an enemy.
Catapult carts must be escorted by soldiers and assembled before attacking all buildings, catapults, rams, siege towers and walls. They are the only weapon capable of attacking and destroying catapults on towers and unassembled catapult carts, ram carts and siege tower carts You can also attack Gates with them. But on the other hand, the Ram is on Walls not very effective and likely to waste many shots.
Catapults on walls attack all kinds of carts and siege engines but not soldiers. However, the escort dies when the wall catapult destroys a cart or a siege engine.</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. How do I use the siege tower?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Like the ram and the catapult, the tower must be escorted by a unit of soldiers for assembling and maneuvering in the assembled state. After assembling you can send a second unit on top of the tower. With or without a second unit you can push the tower towards an enemy wall, where it will open automatically. If there is a unit of soldiers already on top of the tower they will enter the wall by themselves. As long as the Siege tower is against a Wall you can send as many as you like (or have) over the Enemy's Wall. Pulling the Tower away closes the door and it can be maneuvered to another place or disassembled. </span>
<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q. Is it possible to set gathering points?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: Yes!
By selecting a barrack or a siege weapons blacksmith, you can right click somewhere else to set a flag where new recruited units will go. This could also be a point directly in the enemy's territory, so you can easily send new soldiers into the battle area.
Caution: After a building upgrade the gathering points usually disappears and has to be set again.</span>

<span class="ev_code_BLACK">Q: Why can´t I push all sliders in the graphics options to the maximum?</span>
<span class="ev_code_BLUE">A: You need at least 512 MB of graphics memory to push all sliders to the top level.
If you have less than that, you are only able to push some sliders up.</span>
