Special effect is used comparing SC & SC:PT? | Forums

I used a built-in GeForce4MX to play SC & now I've got a new ATI 9800pro to play the SC:PT demo. May be I am stupid-- I cannot find any difference in visual effects and even speed difference (I am using 1024x768 and turning on all effects to high)
Can any experts enlight me to notice the goodies of SC:PT regarding visual effects comparing with SC?

I don't think SC:PT use new effects. SC:PT needs DirectX 8.1b ans so does SC 1 (or maybe it's 8.1, but anyway, no more effect in the "b" version of DirectX 8.1).

Mainly SC:PT has outdoor environments, whereas the original SC didn't, only had urban and interior environments. thats the difference.
