Hello all. New to these boards but stoked about GR2. Sorry for the comparison, but one of the things that ruined Socom 2 was the fact that they increased the amount of times you had to hit an opponent before they died. Socom 1 was much more realistic in that regard. How does the damage system in GR2 work? TIA.

exactly the same as GR1?? so in GR2 if you get shot in the foot you die? i thought in GR2 they made it the same but changed a little too.
but then sense medics are in the game maybe you just need to get patched up if shot in the foot.

Hmm I can't comment on it being the same as GR1 since I didn't play GR1 extensively. However, I did see people talk about being able to headshot, and other than that it didn't seem that people died "over easily". While I was playing, it always seemed to take a few shots to kill someone, and I definitely was NOT shooting their feet.

I was at the demo event yesterday, and from what I played, I think it did take a few more bullets to kill someone. However, not much more, and it still mainly maintains the feel of the original.

You was there? Which guy were you? And did you rememebr me? A black kid around 15 years old, caramel skin color?

Yeah I remember you. I was the little twitchy kid with a camera, and I was wearing a black t-shirt and tan shorts.

GR2 should probably be like RvS (i'm talking about the Xbox version, where you have a health bar with 4 little ticks, I think). except in GR2 your character is covered in all this heavy armor and hi tech gadgets. I saw a picture on IGN and it labeled everything your guy, or lady, carries. There is so much stuff on you, I wouldn't be suprised if you could take a rocket and live.

well since you mention it i never noticed a foot shot.
hit mass = multiple shots
heat shot = one shot ( most times )
to me it was the same as gr1 ( as far as hit detection was concerned with out privatly sitting down and testing all possabilities i couldnt tell you. )
i saw no "heavy" armor and one close rocket of grag would kill you, it was really fun to see direct gl hits.
youll have the same situation as the original with first to shoot, unless your a bad aim like me. the ret spread was roughly the same as the "accuracy" so believable.
there was no health bar.
in the lower right corner, in the "stance" box you could tell your health by the backgound color.
oh and no "medic" packs in multiplayer that is for SP only and from what was discussed was similar to FSW where you could stop you teammates from dying, but you had a very short period of time and it wasnt a COD style health pack.
p.s. hello kimi
