Thread: Help for grandson | Forums

Ok...I know this is lame but grampa needs such help.

My grandson (5 yrs old)loves the demo. I bought the game on ebay but he and I are just having too much trouble getting through all the 'training' stuff. He just wants to play the game as best he can figure it out. I just spent over 30 min myself and finally got to the loading the tank in ammo section but goofed and backed up the tank into the loading truck.
    That was a hoot.

Is there any type of shortcut where we can just get to playing the game without all the training stuff?

    Thanks for your time...

sorry to disapoint you but no, as far as i know theres no cheat or shortcut where you can skip training. but personally i would prompt him to continue with training, as the game itself can be very complicating (i've been playing for some time now and still i can't get completely around some of the machinery and all).

I don't mean to sound offensive or anything but if your grandsons fives years old he might find it a bit harder than most usual players. my own six year old cousin always has difficulty with the game. and its not just using the machinery but sometimes you need to figure out complicated tactics that require A LOT of patience (trust me on this).

but i assure you once he gets around it hes gonna really enjoy it

I think someone has loaded up a completed game file on here, so you can choose any mission at any time.

Search the threads and you will find it

If you cannot get through the training then I can assure you that you will have nothing but frustrations if you jump straight into the game.

This game is simply too hard for a 5-year-old, not to mention a bit violent (it is rated M17).

The decision is ultimately yours, of course, but most grown people can't think fast enough for this game, let alone very young children.

Check out this link, might help you!

It says this file unlocks all missions for the campaign. I've downloaded such a file, but haven't tried this specific one. Just search for "Faces of War campaign unlock" on google or something similar and you might find more if this one doesn't work.

But, i recommend to play the missions in order once you've unlocked them all. Annother tip of unlocking the campaign is to use the editor and load the missions through it. But that is quite difficult if you haven't done it before.

I must disagree, my son who is 5, loves playing this game. He likes playing as the Allies. He loves using the tanks. He has not yet learned how to do direct control but he has a fun time blasting my troops and tanks. He surprises me a few times when he manages to sneak a unit around my flank. He's learning. We play on a LAN with two copies and it's a blast. The only limitations we have is slow PC's that occassionally lag during intense play, but it's still fun.
