NEED HELP GETTING OUT OF VENT IN WAR ROOM. GET MSG TO SCAN THE GENERALS LAPTOP WHICH I DO TRY TO BACK OUT OF VENT BUT GET SO FAR AND CANT GO ANY MORE.

I think you are trying to back out too soon. Once you hack laptop and select an option like "Tap SDF live feed" sit there and listen to conversation between troops. after a while troops die and Ottomo should come back on bing screen. He'll yell and officers in war room for a minute or two then the officers will leave. when Lambert starts talking to you again thats when you can back out of the vent.

I try to scan the generals lap top but nothing happens , they just keep on repeating themselfs. The general never comes back on the big screen and I dont get any prompts saying that I can back out.

Am stuck in the vent on the last mission trying to scan the generals computer, but when I hit the number 1 key to scan it says scaning but nothing comes up on the computer screen. What am I doing wrong, have noticed all through the game couldt scan with the eev unless I am doing something wrong.Any help would be appreciated.

this is a silly question, but how long do you wait for it to scan? it usually takes 2-3 seconds to finish

I am sure when I scan it does not work as nothing comes up on the computer screen. I press the number 1 button for the eev but nothing happens it says scaning but thats all. I need to find a patch to fix this problem. If you know of one let me know.

well, the problem of not being able to successfully scan a computer has never come up before, but you could try updating your game. the autoupdater can be found by going to Start > All Programs > Ubisoft > Tom Clancey's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory > Check for updates

Not all computers can be remotely scanned. You might also be pointed at the wrong thing. Are you pointed at the laptop and not a screen in the area?
