Thread: Heroes 5 announcement coming ! | Forums

  1. #1
    Hi everyone

I’m Fabrice, producer at Ubisoft. Most of you should have encountered me in the main community forums last year. Its been a loong time since I posted anything around. But what we were all waiting for is now just around the corner...

Heroes of Might & Magic 5 will be officially announced by Ubisoft tomorrow !

This forum is dedicated for Heroes VIP around the world, and we will tell you everything (or almost ), before we announce everyone else ! Other bonuses will be provided to you later, if you behave

What can be said at this time ? Well I can summarize by stating that the years to come will be the best for fans of the Might & Magic brand, just like the previous ones were the best for fans of the Lord of the Ring. Many things are building up ! On Heroes 5 specifically, we have passed half of the development cycle, and are now gathering speed, toward a release early next year. It seem far away, but we’ll be there very quickly, and there is much to do. We are investing a lot of time in this project, with many people involved in the team and around the team. Its really showing in the versions we are testing now.

This will be Ubisoft’s first take on the brand, and I hope it will live up to the legacy !

Here is a glimpse of the screens that will be posted tomorrow :

    All hail Fritos!

BTW, on a serious note, nice picture. Can I assume that is an enlargement of part of the adventure screen?

Love the screenshot. Quick question though....

Is that the combat screen or the adventure screen....or have we completely redone the way the game works?

Thanks to Ron for giving me a generic logon until it's figured out what's up with my account.

While it *is* a very pretty picture, I'm truly hoping that Heroes V will be closer in design to Heroes III and that any similarity to H4 will be thrown out the window.

I just despised Heroes IV so much (as did most of you) and this screen shot is scaring me into thinking that it's going to be more similar to H4, which means a "no purchase" for me.

I'm just being honest because I believe that's what Ubisoft wants to hear. I find it interesting that the posts over here are all "oooo and gooo" with little or no cricism compared to what I just read at the Bear's Den.

I just don't understand where you see a similarity to Heroes IV. I'm not seeing what you're seeing. I love the wealth of detail here, and I'm assuming it's a zoomed-in shot of the adventure map, but I don't suppose we're going to get that information TODAY.
