    This info is thanks to fu5ion and killedbydougs (both of whom frequent my server "www.themonk.ca" which is how I came to know it! hehe)

    1. go to "notepad" and type a tilde "~" into a blank txt file

    2. COPY (Ctrl-C) that ~

    3. Open the console in-game by hitting the "~" key on your keyboard

    4. PASTE (Ctrl-V) into the console (you won't see anything, but there is now an invisible tilde "~" there)

    5. Now try double character capital letters for the various icons

    eg:

    FI = FIRE
    VH = VEHICLE
    MM = SAW w/ bipod
    MS = SAW without bipod
    MK = Makarov pistol
    DG = SVD Druganov
    CB = Crossbow
    SS = Silenced shottie
    DE = Deagle pistol
    XX = X-box X button
    YY = X-box Y button
    AA = X-box A button
    BB = X-box B button
    ST = X-Box START button

    etc. etc...

    I'm too lazy to list em all...

    EDIT:
    One thing I forgot to mention. If you only paste ONE tilde into the console before the icon code it will show the icon/pic as BLACK to you and either RED or GREEN to the rest of the players depending on if they are your ally or foe.

    If you want the pic/icon to show with normal/default game colour regardless of friend/foe you need to paste TWO tilde's before the icon-code!

    Well, Iam not sure if is that any good. Personally I dont like it much. But what is worse is, that you can use 16 letters long clan tag, what result than clan tag can "replace" your nickname. So some players change it all the time and try hide behind clan tag. I think that clan tag should be maximum 6 letters and if those "pictures" or "icons" would be allowed, then you shouldnt use any more clan tag. Hope you agree. If you know what I mean....

    Their regular name still shows in the console. The clan tag only "hides" what is displayed on game messages.
    Look for our server -M- | mgklan.com MGL= BAN

    Their "real" name also shows in the LOBBY-CHAT, where it can get confusing knowing who is who if 4 or 5 people have their entire name "pic-ed" out! ;P

    Agree Pacient.cz
    well some tags are ok but the guns ,like MGL and the snipers that i have banned on my server.
    thats confusing when people have them, and they kill a player,, i have to look closer so i dont kick a player for thinking he shoots some with a MGL or snipers lol....

    Glad you agree..
    You know what? When I played Fc-1 (I stop played it after FC-2 release and played it for more that two years...), I hated see those messages : "player xxxx renamed to yxyxyy"...
    And I know lots of players who use three, four or more names. Why ? They need cover their identity behind various names, I think. And its not good. Thats why I liked very much that in FC-2 you have to play under name which you are registered and if you do some bad thinks, you have to take full responsibility for that, because soon or latter everybody would know you as ******. But also I understand that many honest players wouldnt like it, but then possibility add clan was almost what was need it for make it your nickname lets say "different" (shame is that you still cant use colored name, it would be nice and "safe" as well, IMO).
    So, I always carry my nickname with honour and I behave with keep in my mind that my behaviour will take consequences.
    That means - let player use clan tag (max. 6 letters or so one) let them use colors to pimp it up their nicknames a bit as they wish , maybe some icons as well, but dont let them cover their names like this.
    I know M-Rentil that you can see names in the console, I know that on ingame chat you see their names too, but still.... when they are more then one with covered name, you cant be sure who is who. Also - did you noticed those people almonst never wrotte to the chat...?!
    Ok, that is my opinion....
