Could someone explain to me how the "time-out" feature on artillery works? What exactly does it do and how does it work.

Hydra, here's the way it happens:
The timeout option (in minutes) will keep the AA/Guns silent, in other words if you put in 10 minutes, the guns will only start firing AFTER 10 minutes, obviously only if there are targets in range. The Holdfire option works in metres(m). The amount you enter here, e.g: 100, will let the gun only fire on targets that come within this 100 metre range.
These options are pretty handy for 'surprise' type attacks, where the guns only start firing once an enemy passes within the given distance(radius). Hope this explains it a bit better for you!
    Happy flying!

Thanks very much. Now,does it also turn them off for a time being as well? For instance, fire about 2 minutes or so,then stop for 2 minutes?I ask because I have recently got into hosting DF maps and have noticed that people are tending to camp areas that have plenty of AA.This would be okay if everyone was running a high powered machine, but as we all know, not every does

Well, an option I would like as well, but unfortunately not. Maybe in a future patch, but I doubt it
