Is it just me that feels like all I do is click some random squares and *hope* that something appears?
Then have to wait to have enough energy to try again?
This is kinda like a Lotto....
Please tell me I'm doing it all wrong, cuz I like this game

If you want to boil it down to simple gameplay, yes, you click tiles and "hope" something appears.

You're playing as a CSI investigating crime scenes and solving crimes. You can accumulate Funding which can be spent to decorate your lab and avatar and also amass collections of memorabilia and insects. The game is deeper than what you see on the surface

Thanks for your answer...but I'm not really solving anything am I? The AI does all of that. Also, there are not clues to point me toward what squares are the best for looking.
There is no 'detective' work to be done -- just simple guessing on a grid and taking the results for the AI to spit back conclusions.
If that is all -- it seems a waste of a great idea. More like a cross between a Webzine and Choose Your Own Adventure book.

I've mentioned this before in feedback & suggestions, but the Mods are still yet to comment. It really is click with fingers crossed and wait. Not much deeper than that, we don't have to use our brains at all. I would like some choices, like from the clues choose where to go - you may be right or wrong, but at least you would have to think about it.

There actually are clue tiles that point you in the right direction of evidence...just FYI.

    Okay..you're kidding right?

The "clue" tiles are just arrows...but just like the other tiles, you have to GUESS to find those clue tiles.

How about we call them "hint" tiles, not "clue" tiles? The points we are both making are still valid...

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist!"

If you actually read what I have said, I like the game and simply say that it is a missed opportunity if that is all there is to it.

I develop software myself and have used/participate in several user group/feedback groups during the lifecycle. Only hearing people blow smoke up your backside does nothing to advance the quality of the game.

I've (since) read other posts on the board that have said similar things to what I have posted. The developers can either take my comments as an indictment (as you obviously have) or see it as a request for improvement for a game that users (including me) have a passion for...

However, I appreciate your comments - but it is 'homer' comments like those you have posted that remind me of the old "America Love It or Leave It" slogans or the "Go Back to Africa" posters of my youth. I'm sure that is not what you meant, but if you are so passionate about this game - you might consider that it is not perfect and the users of the game have some valid thoughts on improvement.

PS - If you will allow me, I would like to use your comments as an example in my classes. User interaction in forums will not be covered until April, but I like what you have said. I will re-post to you what my students say (agree/disagree)

Well said. Hopefully things will get better for an already good looking game. Lots of potential out there....verda?

It wasn't until this post that you expressed that you actually like the game, so it's good to hear that.

We're well aware it's not a perfect game and we're working hand in hand with our developers to make it better each day. User feedback plays a key role in how we shape the game, but recognize (I'm sure you do) that everything a user wishes cannot always be implemented into the game, and that it takes time to make sweeping changes such as some of the suggestions you've and others have proposed. I put up a defense because I thought you were trolling, so please forgive me. Thank you for your feedback and please know that we read it, relay it and it does play a role in the future shaping of our game.
