Just started playing farcry 2 online yesterday, played a few good matches then for some reason I got banned from this one host and now everytime I try to play online I get disconnected from the host prior to the match starting! I tried creating a new account but to no avail and I'm seriously fustrated with not being able to play... any ideas?

My best advice to you is to play with friends or choose a match other than ranked.

"Banned" means two different things on multiplayer. If the host used the FC2 admin console ban, that means you're banned until the server goes down next time. If you, however, were banned by punkbuster, you are banned for good on that server (or until the admin cleans his ban file).

Try to go to Ranked games, then "Join Custom Match" and choose a match which has a good ping for you. Then you should be able to get in, unless you were banned from the server earlier.

A lot of servers have rules: Some do not allow grenade launchers or MGLs, some don't allow flame throwers (for a good reason, when will ubi fix that?!?!?), some don't allow certain sniper rifles. If you break such a rule, chances are you will get thrown out fast. Also, insults or abusive behavior like going "GOGOGOGOGOGOGO" in lobby usually earns people kicks or bans on many servers. Then there are the real crooks, those who kick people for winning. Make a note of what server you were on if that happens, and don't play there again.
