Thread: OT: Biggest Storm (In a very long time) Predicted for UK | Forums

  1. #1
I'd suggest any UK forum members in the South batten down the hatches and secure all loose items if the reports are to be believed!

Remember Weather Reporter Michael Fish's infamous live TV denial that a Hurricane would hit the South Coast?

Read about it here - BBC News

This really is the "calm before the storm"... Just wet and cold so far.

The forecasters say it's going to kick off after midnight.

Good luck to you, my UK friends. We here in central Canada just got whalloped again. This has been a near record for snowfall for us; we are over 100 centimetres more than last year and about to break a record for February.

Funny though because just after midnight I noticed an increasing intensity of the wind and then the rain soon followed, it wasn't too bad out in the yard last night but I'm thinking of the lads who went out a few hours ago, thankfully with laden trailers. It's the empty ones that scare me...and it's one of my jobs too, lets just say I'm glad I'm not out on the roads today...that is until about 2000hrs tonight

Hopefully the worst will be over by the time I get out with my high sided vehicle

Take care on the roads tonight Goose!

First photo I took yesterday, the second two I took today stood in the same spot - Quite a difference!

It's calmed down here now. The sea is still roaring away but the wind has dropped.

Lots of roads were closed around here and driving was er, kind of fun. Jambo Towers lost a shed window and a fence panel.

Fortunately one of the grounds staff spotted the fence panel down and managed to prevent any Deer, Wild Boar or Llama's escaping (The animals are a great Tourist attraction in the summer)
