There's no reason why a laptop can run WoW, but not Vegas... Looking at the requirements it looks like you're at the minimum.

    Requirements:
    Operating System: Windows 2000/XP
    DirectX Version: v9.0c
System: Pentium 4 1.5GHz or equivalent
    RAM: 512 MB
    Video Memory: 64 MB
    Hard Drive Space: 7000 MB

I don't know the exact needs of the game as far as hardware, but saying that laptops aren't supported doesn't make much sense to me.

Laptops are supported if you have a SM3.0 capable device. My friend just played me last night on his Dell laptop with a SM3.0 capable Quadro card.

However, the original poster's laptop will not even handle CS:S. I have another friend who has to run his CS:S at 800x600 with forced DX6.0 graphics. Your Intel chip is teh weak.

    Integrated GPU...are you kidding me?

There is no way that your laptop will run this game. Sorry mate, I just don't want you spending money only to wind up pissed off like so many others on this forum.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Warning: Excessive use of parenthesis . . .

This is a next gen game that's puttin' the hurt on a lot of mid to high range PCs right now, and your laptop's video solution would rank in the lower end of the spectrum (as in, 'beneath' the mid-range).

    I'm running a dual-core AMD Athlon X2
    2 GB of RAM
and a Radeon X1800 XT 512MB (dedicated video)

My solution is not top end, but it's nowhere near the bottom and I chunk out framerates in the 20s at times.

Running Halo Combat Evolved and Rainbow Six Raven Shield (both Shader Model 1.1 DirectX 8 games, i.e. not "next gen") isn't indicative of any performance you'll receive running Rainbow Six: Vegas (a Shader Model 3.0 DirectX9c game) on that Intel graphics chipset.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
